They shadowbanned it after people complained lmao.
I wouldn't say "shadowban", it's just hidden by default. With shadowbans nobody can see them, only jannies.
Bruh anyway, I'm not sure why you're complaining about these kind of things anyway?? just because maybe 2 or 3 users don't like some random new /h/ole that a random user created doesn't mean the site is dead... Why does Kiwifarms have offtopic boards? Why did it have to turn off the greyscale filter because retards kept installing random user scripts on Kiwifarms (meta-drama)? Why is there a chat? etc etc etc...
notice a pattern here compared to Kiwifarms, the website you are currently on?
Holes are basically like the subforums that standard forums always have, like *here*. They aren't very large at all; they're kind of like tags for posts and they show up on the front page. I really like to think of the Reddit (or link-aggregator sites in general) as an experimental twist on casual forums. All content you want is shoved in a "main page", where as with Forums in general, all your content is separate under their own sections, and further more, usually layered under some bumped thread where you have to peep the 'happenings' in said thread to see (or follow a thread).
Anyone can create holes with the fake reddit gold, but they expire after 2 weeks (assuming they've gone nowhere). The /h/oles allow to filter out content, to make it feel a little bit like a regular forum. Holes can also be blocked, but people like to complain instead of just hiding the holes of things they don't want. I think holes (subreddits) are unique and cool compared to the standard forum layout too, because it
forces people who aren't always interested in a topic (say: technology, which is /h/slackernews) to find something interesting, even if they don't "follow" a hole. Of course, if they aren't interested at all, that's why people can block holes.
So why do you make all these comparisons and talk about these changes that you consider the
death of rDrama essentially? This is the same exact shit websites like Kiwifarms have, no different in almost any way. I'm sure someone here has complained about there being too many [x] or too many [y]. This shit just happens man, but 2 people complaining doesn't mean death
rdrama's search is shit so don't make me search more.
You've clearly never seen Pleroma's (even Twitter's search is kind of bad in comparison too) search feature. It doesn't fucking find shit 95% of the time lol, just returns nothing
apologies if im words words words posting too much, i just like typing and im still a bit new here...
