I'll just throw this out there. Either way I wish the worst for Torswats. I might be smug, mean, racist and sometimes just an annoying know-it-all "academia" prick, but I have never ever gone after any lolcows I follow personally to fuck their lives up over petty Internet drama. Not even the nonces, because I squarely believe it's the duty of law enforcement, not me.
Fuck them. Enjoy prison. I would love to be the one to break the news of those fucks being caged up over what they did to innocent people.

what's the difference between rdrama and watchpeopledie? I literally didn't know that that second website even existed and it was only rdrama, who owns wpd, are those two websites connected besides the mascot, Marsey?

WPD is for gore. I don't know if it's worth making a separate thread for WPD.
 
While WPD is being discussed I'd like to share Carp talking about working within the system to make it a "less evil" place.

I don't necessarily think WPD is evil, it's not better than ogrish or similar sites that used to exist. I kinda agree with Carp here though that most of the gore sites have closed down and they all funnel to WPD. If he can fuck with them and curtail certain threads then that can be a net positive.

WPD is usually free speech. As much as rDrama is. But they recently had a problem with the FBI asking for some posts to be taken down due to ISIS propaganda. They agreed due to not being able to speak Arabic and also it was the fucking FBI asking them.

The topic being discussed in the screenshot was the recent sentencing for Richard Densmore, which you can read about in a current feature here. Someone was like “hurrdurr WPD” and I explained that WPD has, at my insistence, a number of phrases related to those groups (764/Harm Nation/whatever) that will send a priority notification to the jannies. They then look into it and if they need some deeper research done into the user, someone gets my attention or Aevann’s attention.

I’m mystified as to where this comes from. My interactions with WPD are limited to making announcements when it’s asked of me, occasionally shitposting something and offering suggestions in the background. For example, today a DOB field was added to the profile settings page to serve as a honeypot for minors to automatically ban them (this is currently not working after the initial rollout led to catastrophe). When a user is banned for being underage they are locked out of viewing anything on the website aside from a page that says they’ve been banned for being underage while an AI song along the lines of “hey parents, check your kid’s devices, hey parents, your kid is on a website with real life gore” plays on repeat.

I have no idea whether or not WPD has any informational bias. I don’t use the website. I make cheery announcements, I am asked on occasion for input, I make suggestions proactively sometimes, and I post nonsense. If “jannies should be made aware of possible sextortion groups trying to get a foothold on the site so they can prevent this” is zogposting then call me Shlomo.

I actually asked you about this and looked into the source


And here's the word_alert_regex for the o9a and 764 pedos

Basically the phrases 'daisy destruction', 'kill myself' and the words 'o9a', '764', '9 angles' (a misspelling and angels, which I'm not sure is a typo or not) and 'hurtcore' and 'pthc' would trigger an admin alert.

Carp even admitted to not knowing they were so limited and wanted to improve these filters. This was confirmed by Aevann.

Anyway, WPD sucks and is a plague but I feel they are doing their best with their platform to make it as US-legal as possible, which I'm sure the users of this site should appreciate since Null does the same for this site.

I think that covers all the red flags from what I’ve read.
