Reaction Scores are Gone

I for one am rather glad to see the reaction score go.

I've been a lurker since 2017, and the reaction score system was the biggest reason why I never made an account sooner. Evaluations in general always give me great anxiety, so I decided that not making an account in the first place was the best way to avoid unnecessarily stressing myself out.

I get having the updoots but I get tired of retards farming them. I’m hoping it’ll cut down on a lot of the noise, it’s what happened when the board was taken off the clearnet.

Good. Zero-effort feedback systems, especially when anonymous, are the cancer that made Reddit into Reddit. Users turn into bugmen and don't bother to think about the content of a comment, they make a rash "good or bad" judgement based on the number of upvotes or downvotes it has. Catchphrases supporting the popular thing get showered in good arrows. Cowards silence people by giving them bad arrows so that other bugmen can be informed that a comment is bad.

The stickers are still here, but it's a lot better without a reddit number on someone's profile that really only represents how well someone was able to summarize and recite the popular opinion in a thread.

I had sticker notifications turned off for years, but I get why some at least wanted the option. Plus, it was always funny to come across a user in the negatives and browse through their posts to laugh at dumb shit.

All of a sudden, for no reason at all, the 5,000 word essays that get posted to the Beauty Parlour stopped…
You know, now that you mention it, maybe this is a good thing.

That sounds like a "you" problem. Here at the Farms, most users don't flip their shit over having a reaction score. And, unsurprisingly, most users want it back.
