‘Realistic’ Game Environments Don’t Acknowledge Disabled People

So what you're telling me is I should be mad there aren't more wheelchair bound folk for me to mow down in gta?
EDIT: God he's one of those "BOOHOOHOO LABELS ARE ALL I HAVE TO SUBSTITUTE A PERSONALITY BOOHOOHOO" now it all makes fucking sense. These people are literal pieces of fucking plastic.

Ok, so let me get this straight. Video games are escapist fantasies where you don't have to be ugly, unattractive, disabled, weak and bullied. They allow you to escape into worlds where you can be what you want to be.

And yet, you choose to be disabled. Why? What the fuck is wrong with you? You're a guy who would play an immersive VRMMO and then play as a cripple and then whine its too hard, while everyone is running around and flying and having a blast.

You are so invested in your shitty identity that you can't escape, you have to constantly feel sorry for yourself. Its the same shit. If I had a button to give you that would instantly make you not disabled, you'd fucking press it. Same for everyone who is fat. You would press the button unless you were fucking insane. And then after you didn't press the button, you'd whine at how they're genociding the disabled and its not fair everyone is treating you like a lunatic.

It's funny you should say that because there are deaf people who are trying to prevent research into a cure for deafness because they consider it genocide.

Where are the real tard games

thatd be funny as hell.

It's funny you should say that because there are deaf people who are trying to prevent research into a cure for deafness because they consider it genocide.

I would have thought you were making that up but I went out with a deaf guy for a while and experienced similar sentiments from his friends, they say it’s a subculture.

They had to remove feminists from RDR2 because people kept beating them up. Imagine what would happen to cripples in GTA VI

Bitch, if wheelchair dudes are in GTA VI I'm tearing them out their chair, and organising races!

It might work if you were suddenly amputated from stepping on a landmine in a FPS or another Call of Duty clone...But then we can also laugh at the guy for being to tunnel-visioned to notice the mine.

Seems legit.

That COD with Kevin Spacey, I'm sure you played as a guy who got ripped to shreds by a robot.

I wouldn't mind being able to set cripples on fire with a flamethrower in GTA.
Remember to push them out of their wheelchairs first.
I'm starting to wonder if the Romans had the right idea, abandoning feeble babies at birth since this is what they grow up to be, massive fucking disappointments.

You guys need to be inclusive. I just killed about 50 disabled people in GTA after reading this article.

Who where they?

I my mind they were the Lugenpresse.

Edit:
I found another video of disabled people (Life Invader staff) in GTA V being massacred:

I've had the pleasure of playing with someone else's HTC Vive and games like Job Simulator(where you fake office tasks/convenience store clerk/line cook chores behind a counter) are pretty impressive for their presentation and interactivity. In taking turns, I tried helping a 4-yr old nephew play, and we encountered the problem that with the headset on, the kid couldn't see over the counter. He had no problems playing with the game or understanding the controls(people were actually shocked at how intuitively he took to it) but we had to slide an ottoman under him so that he could play, and I had to hold his hips so he wouldn't fall. Any time he dropped something on the floor, it was a huge hassle because he could see everything virtually EXCEPT the ottoman holding him up, and game objects could fall through it.

The HTC Vive has two motion tracking cameras propped up at about the 7 ft mark at opposite comers of the room/play area. You'd think, "oh, just slide them down for a kid, right?" Well, you could, but then the net effect would be the game space would descend 3ish feet through the real world floor, making low objects uninteractable. So ottoman was the only play.

"VR is for normal adults, if you're not normal, fuck you. But feel free to buy in anyways and try to nigger-rig a fix for your specific problem."
-Gabe Newell, probably

"Errol Kerr" sounds like what a severely mentally disabled person replies when asked how they are doing.
I tried it out loud and laughed at myself, good one

If this guy was asking for full blown simulators to include things about disability, I'd be agreeing with him. If you're going to simulate, may as well go all the way.

Asking for complete realism in Yakuza, though? This is the game series known for extreme feats of masculinity such as fist fighting a bear in a snow storm. Saying that is realistic is insane. Most people aren't Japanese ex-cons trying to make a new life in the mountains of Japan. Most people aren't orphans becoming Japanese idols. Most people aren't former Yakuza taxi drivers blasting eurobeat.

Yakuza is not realistic. It's a wacky Japanese comedy with crime drama thrown in.

In games set in less modern times, exclusion of disability was the norm. The disabled were typically hidden at best and left to die at worst. Disabilities were often seen as shameful. Not just to the person with them but the parents. This is still a thing in many countries.

Yeah! I'm in an iron lung and do you know how many video games feature protagonists like me? None, that's who! I was literally traumatized when I was playing Star Wars Squadrons and I saw so many of those ableist breathers. Do better, games industry!

Would you rather play a game where you can do triple backflips and fly a helicopter, or a game where you're a whiny, skinnyfat, crippled journo?

That's what I fucking thought. Thank God that the free market makes woke ideology hemorrhage money, so only the biggest and wokest companies would ever do something stupid enough as to care about cripple ramps in your FPS.

also are journalists still lining up to die on the "muh representation is more important than accuracy" hill?
