realtimefascism.com - An AI powered website recording the rise of Fascism in the US by some deranged faggot on HackerNews

And I think we all know "Democracy" means when the government is ran exclusively by the MovieBobs of the world.
The biggest question I have is why its axiomatic that "democracy" is good and something to be preserved in a country that's a constitutional republic.
It's like if I walked into 15th century feudal Britain and started talking about how we must preserve the dictatorship of the proletariat. There isn't one!

Those are rookie numbers, Kameraden. We can push it to at least 88%
Time for some autism as your reference to 88% made me laugh.

Kamerad/Kameraden in German is a right-wing term especially associated with the military. Genosse/Genossen is ours, with an especially strong association with the heroic fight of the KPD during the Hitler era.

Holy shit the threat level is severe it's fucking over (not)View attachment 6982408
What even defines the alternative? What would make it go to a blue or green or even less-than-current state?

It would help if I could actually access the website, but Firefox insists it's a virus and keeps putting me in a sec risk loop :story:

Edit: got it to work by using the TOR browser

Others here have said this but literally what fucking metrics are they using? What are comparative examples at the very least, to show what "less fascist" means? (Ie, where are other countries on this impeccable scale?) What in particular makes the US 75% fascist? How is this calculated? How are numerical values deviated from the points made on the site, other than through comparing them to previous policies?

So is this really the most objective measure they could come up with? Are they just past the point of understanding that the media, regardless of partisan bias, tends to be sensationalist and immediate as on-the-ground or first-emerging reporting? Hot take maybe but it seems like a flawed metric, because it'll inherently point towards alarmist bait (especially by sources against Trump ideologically). The site's explainer also mentions that it weighs various media in making the judgement, but this still doesn't solve the underlying problem. Media itself can be flawed, using headlines as an objective measure is impossible (unless you're trying to measure attitudes generated by those headlines, which ironically could probably prove the relation between sensationalist titles and fearmongering)

Imagine if this energy was used elsewhere man. Why not compare Nazi German and Italian policies with Trump proposals side-by-side, maybe with comparative modeling to discern how similar/dissimilar they might be? That would actually be an amazing use of tech and history (even if to make a charged statement), but it doesn't seem that this site is going off of anything than trying to be a repository for rage bait articles about the Tangerine Tyrant

That's what the dumbass gets for putting 'fascism' in the domain name :story:
I'm sure a Firefox security tranny janny on Hacknews will white allow list him though.

i really hate these bullet-point definitions of fascism, they allow for this zenon paradox type of shit - fascism gets closer and closer, yet never arrives, so you can always scare campaign that it is getting closer, because if you were to declare that the fascism is already here, then the silliness of larping the handmaiden's tale would be really really evident
The original source for the so-called "14 Signs of Fascism" this website uses is a man named Laurence W. Britt. Who is he? Well, he isn't a historian, he isn't a political scientist, he has no academic qualifications, in fact there's barely even any information about him on the Internet. It originates from a blog post he made in 2003 claiming that America after 9/11 was descending into a totalitarian state and that the president was acting like a dictator, which then got picked up by a magazine called Free Inquiry. It's the opinion of a literal nobody who's main goal in writing it was to shit on George Bush.

Oh, and that doesn't mean I think what he wrote should be automatically dismissed out of hand because of his background (or lack thereof). But the same people who repeat this rubbish are the same people who dismiss anything that isn't from established, mainstream sources as "misinformation", so the fact this Laurence W. Britt guy is a literal who should matter to them.

But wait, it gets better. The list was obscure until it was picked up and popularized by Jeff Rense. Now, who's Jeff Rense? That's where this gets really funny:
What I didn’t know at the time is that rense.com is run by Jeff Rense, a right-wing talk radio host. His program used to be broadcast on AM radio and later on satellite radio, but is now limited to being streamed on his website. He is accused of promoting antisemitic views by both the ADL and the SPLC, and has given a platform to a number of racist extremists like Don Black and David Duke. His website is teeming with conspiracy theories, including everything from 9/11 denialism to UFOs and more. His show has hosted conspiracy theorists like Alex Jones and David Icke.
Time for a quick recap: The modern liberal's understanding of what fascism is comes from a random blog post written by a nobody, that was then signal-boosted and entered popular discourse due to the efforts of someone who pals around with white supremacists.

It really is crazy like....how you can create a website about nazism but have no clue what nazis were or what they did

Or that fascism is different from national socialism. Or that Hirohito and Franco weren't fascist.
Eh....I mean, national socialism is the economic component of fascism.

Though I'm not sure that nazis were fascist either, they were unique in their race heritage and religious component

Like there were and are faggots everywhere being retarded, but hitler had a unique, prophetic role that made his stuff especially unique

Why can't Kiwifarms redirect to itself using that as an address?
Best we can have is realtimefascism.st, or realtimefascism.(some other TLD lenient on speech). Of course we know from this post that realtimefascism.com is taken, but I assume .com Terms of Service allow for the corporatized advertiser-friendly hellhole that is much of the modern Internet. .net would be the same too.

If Null wanted to be based, he would do something like this

AI is great at sophistry.

I would like to see three more versions of this site: one operating against Trump-Republicanism smearing it as Communist; one operating against Democrats smearing them as Communists; and one operating against Democrats, smearing them as Fascists. I'm sure the AI would do an adequate job stretching and confabulating and cherrypicking to make all those perspectives seem "valid" to affirmation-seeking morons.

From what I've gathered reading what they've said the threat levels for the articles are all calculated by an AI (i guess it has five types to choose from?) and the literally FASHICSM level is just incremented/decremented depending on what level the latest article fascism level is.

Pretty funny stuff. Basically, who fucking knows an AI is doing it.
