The Kickstarter

RED ASH is an opportunity to not only fulfill Keiji Inafune's desire to create a game that pays homage to Japanese animation, but also his vision of "immersing players in a freely explorable anime world." The RED ASH team is spearheaded by Art Director Kazushi Ito and Director Masahiro Yasuma, key members of the original team that pioneered open world game design with Mega Man Legends. With the RED ASH project, they aim to build an action adventure experience with a new level of freedom, complete with the polish expected from such veteran creators.

Sharp-eyed readers may notice that this project has inherited some of the DNA from our Mighty No. 9 project--specifically, the shared character names Beck and Call. We feel that this is an important part of the project: we're taking this opportunity to create an altogether different type of game together with the support of fans and backers. We want to continue embracing this new style of game design and production, challenges and risks included. With RED ASH, we hope to channel your passion for gaming into our creative process, and fulfill both our own dreams and the dreams of our fans around the world!

tl;dr inafune wants to monetize the rage people has against capcom for cancelling megaman legend 3 for ds he even nailed staff from the same game also there is a separate kickstater for a anime made by studio 4°c (Memories, that horrible anime about thundercats) if they manage to get the basic funding they are going to make shorts, and if they manage to naile 2.5 million bucks there is going to be a full movie

ok im first "inafune is a jew and i will give my money to him"

To be quite honest, I'm in love with the art direction Red Ash has so far (namely the design of the places, I'm a sucker for cool ruins). I've backed $25, might up that to $69 before it ends just for the sweet beta access.

They're pretty great though. I liked Tekkonkinkreet a lot, and they did a DLC episode for Asura's Wrath that looked pretty cool.

I fucking hate Keiji Inafune.

Why did he announce a spiritual successor like a week after he had an interview saying "oh, yeah if I could I would probably go back and make MML3"

He legitimately doesn't care and sees games as products.

I'll be surprised if this does well. Considering how lackluster Comcepts other games are, how MN9 has had several kickstarters for a game that isn't even out, and general backlash to Inafune?

Probably not going to do so hot.

People are stupid

people are not very hyped about this, he choose a bad time to announce it, worst of it even it is barely funded (800) he will only released half the game

even if he nail 1300 there is another problem

even if he get the money the game will be barely completed i supposed he need about almost 3 millions to complete all the game

the thing is so/so there was not a big announcement and stuff and the kickstarter has barely moved (only 100.000 bucks in the first day), i dont think it will get 100% funded, maybe two stretchs

Did he even put out those other Megaman ripoffs yet?

And seriously another goddamn kickstarter? Inafuckyourself.

A friend of mine said Mighty No. 9 should be coming out in September. That time would be better to announce Red Ash but then again, Inafune just sees games as products. Speaking of kickstarter and Megaman ripoffs, he done it again, trying to make live action Mighty No. 9.

In all honest I think this kickstarter will do bad compare to Mighty no.9. it will get funded i don't doubt that, but after the dina incident, the cancellation of Kaito, the hype dying down and let's not forgot fucking six other games that no one talks about. the rational people made decision not to fund it and those who did are the blind megaman fans who only see megaman legend 3. I am not going giving Red Ash much thought as a shit ton of things aren't inafune's favor anymore. Hell Capcom can sure concept for the high level of iffyness of Red Ash.(Fucking Seriously Tyger looks like Teisel with a dye job and a hair cut). If it happen's i doubt buy it, like unless it gets a phyiscal release and i find it at a gamestop for ten bucks.

What a surprise. It had a publisher the entire time so a kickstarter was completely unnecessary and only an excuse to hopefully fund a good chunk of it from fans despite being a successful developer with many years of experience in the industry. I am really fucking sick of
Inafune and this business method as a whole being exploited by dicks like him.

At this point, people should really know that with business practices like this that Inafune is really just doing this for money. The publisher would show that Inafune would only see the fans as more of wallets since it mean't getting more money.

@Coster you are worse than sheeple
Considering there are people who donated to the Kickstarter, any that have payed attention to this should at this point feel any sort of regret considering that they donated to a game that is getting a publisher despite having a kickstarter. Some should at this point be less than pleased though some might just end up not knowing that Inafune has a publisher for a game that managed to push the release date of Mighty No. 9 back to 2016.

How much more jewgolds are people still willing to give up for this has-been?

Do they accept monopoly money? Because that is probably more than what this stuff is worth.
