Comments are saying that's nu-Josh doing the Lucas voice, if so that's pretty good. Sucks KF's getting attacked again during this momentous occasion.

"Gen Alpha is re-evaluating The Acolyte", shut up Mike... that doesn't even work as a joke. Reevaluating the prequel trilogy is, by his admission in the video, mainly because it's people who grew up with them. The big difference between it and The Acolyte is that the prequels where released when Star Wars was a big deal, even if they where bad it was still a big cultural thing that a huge amount of people went to see. The Acolytle came out to negative hype when Star Wars had become culturally hated and locked behind a subscription service nobody wants... a percent of a percent of a percent of the people who grew up with the prequels will grow up with The Acolyte. There's not gonna be but a handful of "well actually" retrospectives of it in the future, especially if the culture shift continues rightward. Comparing it to the prequels was also stupid, Lucas' autistic bad fan-fic that is weird and bad but also interesting because it was mostly made by a deluded singular vision is completely different than the ultra-committee diversity checkbox corporate slop of The Acolyte.

Plinkett used to be an exciting rarity, but this is all recycled talking points from all their other many, many videos they've done on the topic and it was not balanced by being funny since it wasn't funny at all. The last 5 years of anything to do with Plinkett has just been Mike low-effort soapboxing like this, you hate to see it.

Is He really claiming that The acolyte is not that bad?
No he is not, he contrasts Andor and the Acolyte as the best and worst Star Wars has to offer at the moment. He compares The Acolyte to the Prequels from a story perspective and makes fun of it with hypothetical future news articles that proclaim The Acolyte is a misunderstood masterpiece, like what happened to the Prequels.

I checked out a little over half way through. To me, nothing particularly funny or insightful was said. I've been getting bored with or skipping more and more of their videos recently.

I don't really know how it could be anything else. Of course it's a condensed version of what is on Mikes mind when it comes to Star Wars. It could only be new if they never talked about anything related to Star Wars but viewer demand and them wanting to make money is in the way of that.

Why does Kike Stoklasa still deny the fact that the prequel reviews were a major contributing factor into getting JJ Abrams hired/involved in Star Wars in the first place?
This shit again? The Plinkett reviews of the prequels did nothing but condense every criticism we had for them into a single video. Kathleen Kennedy didn't watch them and hire Jar Jar Abrahms because a fat alcoholic man from Wisconsin said he'd make a good Star Wars movie.

He has the same problem as AVGN. He used to be passionate about Star Trek and that's why he made the ST TNG movie reviews. Now he just doesn't care, so he can't provide any real insight. I didn't even watch The Force Awakens Plinkett review in its entirety because he started talking about some dumb fan theory that don't make no sense. It all felt too forced. It didn't help that they talked about SW so much in general.

It's "Like Like Stoklasa". Get it right.

So The USA network would show the star wars movies around thanksgiving day. I remember people watching them.

In the 1990s Star Wars was basically kept going in alternative media like comics books and video games. Lucas Arts games like X wing.

Alot of people got into it because they d watch the movies with their dads, then The novelity of the special editions being released in theaters. Honestly shittness aside it was good gimick give people a chance to see the movies on the big screen and claim some changes in order say you getting something new or different.

Then the prequals happened and god.....I still remember when the plinket were still 10 minute chunks and he correctly nailed that when jar jar showed up the internal logic of the movie broke down too hard.

Then disney fucking rapped it hard.

If there were a newborn, but highly intelligent alien who was able to converse in English on this thread, how would you rank and explain the crimes of the RLM sphere? I already know what I would say, but I'm interested in what went into the decisions behind the poll up there.
Please show your work.

Octodad was a fun one IIRC.

Why do the 1st ~7secs. of this video look like a new Pride© flag?

Mike still can’t let it go that the chuds were right about Acolyte, just dismissing their complaints he shows with “who cares” is still a gay defense.

Shad is an annoying Aussie who isn’t the be all end all of swords and fights, but he’s spot on in the choreography being about getting the marks (touching the swords) as opposed to feeling like a real fight.

Accurate sword fighting has no place in Star Wars! It must be FUN FUN FUN! like what the shills want. Mike is getting jealous that the channels clowning on Star Wars have more interactions and are getting close to surpassing them in subscribers. I'd rather watch Disparu review a movie or TV show instead of RLM at this point.

The drinker has way more subs that RLM and he's just a straight up clone pumping slop out.

Their channel is declining. They really have to shake things up a bit to make things interesting for us and for themselves too. You can see just how uninterested they are to talk about this stuff. The drinker just shits out a script and says the lines. He doesnt have to care, its pure business.

Shad's throne room fight video is the thing that made me realize that The Last Jedi was heavily re-worked at some point after filming had started.

There is nothing in the universe that can convince me that the original script had Rey getting stabbed in that moment.

Plinkett is back
This is why it's hard to hate these guys too much.

Half that video is mocking themselves.

(and the disney fans going "fascist" bit made me laugh so hard I almost fell out of my chair)

Because we need Plinkett to tell zoomers that no, the prequels still suck. No matter how bad Disney Star Wars is, the prequels will always suck.

Starving African children reference at 25:30
MULTIPLE starving african children references. It's an awesome running gag.

I do agree that's true, but I also think it's a bit more nuanced than that. I do still believe Mike hates the prequels, and one of the main points he made about The Acolyte was that it felt like the prequels. He had made a point earlier in the video about all the people "reevaluating" the prequels and then, with The Acolyte, he talked about gen alpha reevaluating The Acolyte at some future date. There was some sort of point he was trying to make.
