I own no other social media than 4chan. I was seduced by its plethora and diversity of communities and it quickly became the platform where I spent most of my online activity.
However, a few weeks ago, my main 4chan Pass was suspended because of ”hate speech against a minority”. By that, understand that I criticised one of the websites's transgender janitors. But this is a discussion for another day.
My alt passes were not revoked, so I started to use them instead of my main. I posted on a board, which I had no memory of being banned from on another IP, but apparently I was. So I was given a seven-day global for evading a board ban. I was fine with it even though I still can't remember being banned from that board no matter the pass (and when I speak about my alt passes, I actually had two. Three passes in total with my main. It's not as if I had dozens of them.)
But a day or two after I got the seven-day global, all of my passes were permanently suspended. There was no explanation whatsoever, and I had already gotten a sanction for evading a board ban, so I decided to appeal the decision. All I got as an answer was that the decision was right, with the general reminder of respecting 4chan's rules to avoid getting banned again. So I assumed this meant that I was allowed to create a new pass as long as I did nothing wrong on it, so I bought a new one.
I had the new pass for two days before it got definitely suspended too, with no explanation. I did not shit nor post on a board I'm banned from. I did not comment anything against 4chan's rules. Nothing hateful, nothing rude. I appealed again, but I already know what I will get as an answer.
Now I figured that buying a new pass would be in vain since it seems that I'm not allowed to be on 4chan anymore. But I still wonder if there's hope that I will be allowed to return some time in the future?
4chan is the only place I know to come in contact with very specific groups of people, otherwise hard to come by in the vast realm of internet. Though I'm not ”addicted” to 4chan, it was by far my favourite place to go when I have nothing to do during my daily four-hour train ride. I'm really interested in lesser countries as well as their languages and history, 4chan was perfect to find people from those countries or also interested by them. Now, I can indeed still view the contents I like, so it's not as if I couldn't access the platform whatsoever. But I'm still a bit sad not to be able to communicate with the communities anymore, since it represented most of my social interactions on the internet. And my in real life social interactions are really shallow and superficial.
