They got rid of the stack 10 years ago. The game has actually gotten more dumbed down and the cards are becoming less good over time. It's the polar opposite of Yu Gi Oh being hugely powercreeping every set. People are begging for a re-release of Lightning Bolt.

No the stack very much still exists, They got rid of damage on the stack about 10 years ago though.
Do you even know about the ridiculous stuff with layers and oko (even though he's banned now, in like everything aside legacy,vintage, and commander)? It does some very odd things with the rules.

Yeah the power-creep amped up a lot more starting about 4-5 sets after that. The 3 sets that have really shook everything up are War of the Spark, Modern Horizons (set that was cards put directly into modern/legacy, it's pretty much Time Spiral 2), and Throne of Eldraine. Like standard is still fairly simple but if you play pioneer (new format, starts at RTR, fairly small ban list) or modern shit can get really wacky with the interactions.

So, a few pages back some people here briefly discussed an extremely strange subreddit, r/HankStank. It appears that some even stranger things are happening over there; specifically, a hostile takeover of some sort:

I have no idea what the website they refer to is.
This "warchief grace" account that made the post is suspended. In the list of subreddit moderators, there is another user with the "warchief" flair, u/hankthelorehound, who hasn't been suspended. His only post in r/HankStank is this (warning: LOUD) (archive). Besides that, he only seems to post in the Runescape subreddit.
Other than this, the subreddit mostly seems to be business as usual, although its business is posting random pictures of women and gore. This one creeped me out a bit though:
u/Finland--fish is suspended.
It's all still very vague, but my current theory is that this is a front for some actually fucked up people (although whether they've done anything criminal or are simply larping degenerates is questionable) that's being colonized by some other group of fucked up degenerates, with a few random memers thrown into the mix and posting random shit to be edgy. It's also likely that this is only an offshoot of some larger off-reddit community, but I can't find it.
