Lmaooo... how did they not see this coming?

For six years my limited Reddit activity has been exclusive to r/MetalDetecting and r/TreasureHunting and r/Mycology, and for six years I've had zero regrets.

Any thread involving politics, social issues, or emotional venting inevitably becomes a Petri dish of new mental illness combinations and retardation.
It's rare on Reddit that some sort of politics don't become shoehorned into a sub, regardless of how niche the hobby or interest is. I made a couple of posts in this thread about people making "resistance crafts" in crocheting and sewing subs, and most of the comments are about how crafting has 'always been inherently a form of political resistance.' Literally sewing and crocheting. Skills that used to be ubiquitous among women. And people who dare say they just want to share their hobby without politics being involved get downvoted to oblivion and dogpiled on by the majority, including the mods. The more male-oriented interest and hobby subs aren't quite as bad, but you still get those people that bring up Trump out of nowhere or make AmericaBad comments that have nothing to do with anything.

Disagree. It will have caused harm to hundreds of REDDITORS, maybe thousands. NOT to people.

This makes them less suitable to demean savages, more human, and incidentally women ace them, because women are human, and men are gay.
Perhaps you haven't noticed, but you are in wrong thread

A group from University of Zurich used /r/ChangeMyView to run a study which involved using large language model bots (archive)

Redditors, angry that their comments in circlejerk about the current thing subreddit #9845734 could easily be replaced by robots, suddenly become experts in AI and research ethics or something.
Using this logic placebo groups should be told they're being given the placebo in medical research because transparency 🧠

Not the heckin' publicorino! No, I'm not mad that reddit and other companies do this same sort of testing all the time without anyone's knowledge or consent. You can't use gmail... because you just can't!

The word "community" has become completely meaningless, example 105943022345

No bad actors have ever thought to bot reddit before!

WON'T SOMEONE THINK OF THE SUBREDDIT RULES + "I am not a lawyer" (trust me buddy, we all already knew)

A LLM pretending to be PART OF A MARGINALIZED COMMUNITY (read: 85% of humanity). That's too far!

Filthy feature tourist here but goddamn does it boil my blood when they go on an on about "experimentation on the public" for this after being all for the covid jabs. I believe it is a moral failing of mine that I will never be able to hate redditors enough.

"What about our consent?!"
"You scraped my post history?!"
"How would you like to be a lab rat!"
Man wait until they find out about Bardfinn and his magical tagger and algorithms.

Oh well it's their win anyway I suppose.
Now they'll go around saying they got heckin tuskeegee'd and soothe each other.
They should just use AI bots to convince them it was completely okay and ethical.
The exact quote I was thinking about.

When reddit was founded, the founders wrote something like 100,000 fake posts to pretend that their shitty forum aggregator was full of users. That attracted a population that would be fooled by 100,000 fake posts. It's no surprise that an LLM, a generator of midwit slop, would be able to convince a population that grew out of 100,000 fake posts. The truth doesn't matter on reddit. Quality doesn't matter on reddit. Only fake posts and slop.

I just have to wonder if there's an alternate reality where the group conducting this experiment managed to change these people's minds in particular, about this particular topic. Literally what would have happened if they deployed their ultra reddit argumentation conversion 9000 bot, on these people, on the topic of social experiments like this one. This is actually a sci fi plot.

but you still get those people that bring up Trump out of nowhere or make AmericaBad comments that have nothing to do with anything.
I see this a lot in random YouTube comments, which confuses the hell out of me. I want to believe they’re just bots, but the lack of an internal monologue is prevalent and I think these are the perfect example of it. My question is, how can someone even survive without an internal monologue? What would that even be like? It sounds like hell, if you ask me.

This just proves what everyone already knew: reddit is very gullible and should never be taken seriously with anything. They are easily manipulated sheeple, barely human
This is the scary thing about places like Twitter or Reddit since their denizens aren't the type that just go there for a quick little tip or whatever it's people that exclusively get their evidence and information from these websites that are very easily manipulated. This should be eye opening to anyone that for some reason does this.

I don't get the point of having a "change my mind" when the top answers will just be the marxist dogma every single time. Like even somewhere like X or here or 4chan you're occasionally going to get a brave schizo warrior like this guy willing to go against the site's circlejerk (or just straight up bots in the case of X)

And another thing how can you quantify that the data is any meaningful when half the people interacting with it are likely bots themselves.

This is a problem I run into. I really do believe that deep down everyone who buys into some of this shit just HAS to be a grifter. I can't wrap my head around the idea that people really are that fucking retarded. It just seems too convenient that people actively will choose the popular choice that brings them the most social clout because they're pragmatists rather then people can suddenly believe relatively recently that men can be women and everything is just actually awesome right now.
People are that dumb. They are not motivated by any sort of objective reality with a basis in fact, they are moved by emotional manipulation.

It’s why the basis for civilization is religion. You have to make people afraid and happy at the same time to make them do anything, they are base creatures swayed by appeals to base emotions.

This is also the proverbial skeleton key to getting laid you fucking niggers

>global crisis

Wtf is that even referring to?

Also i'm amazed climate change didn't make the list. I wonder how many of them are realizing how many end of the world deadlines came and went and they want to distance themselves from it?
They will just do what they have been doing last 50 years. Move goal post.
Trust us world will end in 1990 2000 2010 2025 2045
