When did things go wrong? 2000s-era forums had their own problems like janny powerstruggles or not knowing how to be reasonably accommodating to new discussion but reddit went from twice as bad as the forums it cannibalized to 100 times as bad. Now there’s nothing but Reddit, and social media

gangbangers are thieves and bandits, not warriors. these types prey on the weak and powerless who can't fight back, while avoiding confrontation with a serious adversary by any means necessary.
oh is that why all the male kiwifarmers are so convinced that any city in america is a "get robbed&beaten only" zone

Centralization, Kike influence, the invention of the iPhone allowing any retard access to a computer and the internet...

>Check cat-related subreddit

Every damn time. I just want to watch cats in peace, goddammit!

Just a reminder that many subreddits have a no politics rule and that places like /r/airplanear which is a sub dedicated to cute photos of cats with airplane ears could easily remove these posts (ICE has literally nothing to do with cats it also could be removed for being entirely off topic) but chose not to because of terminal political brain rot. It's a choice. Reddit mods chose to let your favorite hobby subs be ruined by mentally ill freaks. This is why it's a shit forum.

In like the early 2010s reddit users were mostly the same guys you'd find on forums and imageboards, you were allowed to be edgy or whatever and real discussion happened, something shifted and it's hard to even pinpoint when. If I had to guess it was around the 2016 election, the whole internet kind of declined around then. The worst part is that most of those forums aren't even an option anymore because of the big platforms search engine presence.

Probably why this place is so good, it's one of the last places that still kind of feels like the old internet.

its a natural evolution streamlined all the stuff i dont like it either but it makes sense

We are all being corralled into a tightly controlled, highly censored, flambuoyantly faggish and gay pseudo internet while children are being trafficked and raped in filthy jew tunnels

The barrier of entry to the Internet went way down. Back in the day you at least had to be reasonably intelligent to find an online forum to post on, now the only requirement is that you're able to breathe.

I would also blame the influx of third world people as well.

Can any ugly Kiwis comment on this? Too naturally hot to wrap my head around it tbh
Imagine every woman you meet looking at you with disgust, or maybe enduring your presence. Then suddenly one woman shows interest. But a week in she mentions she wants to fuck other guys on the side. Years of rejection made you desperate, it broke you, and you agree. Of course you're a redditor, so you look up a sub with people in a similar position. Enter /r/cuckhold (or whatever they call it). They talk about enjoying it. You feel miserable every time your girlfriend blows off your date plans to go to another dude, so you go deep into the cuckhold rabbit hole. You don't try to keep it out of sight, out of mind, you sit in the corner of the bedroom jerking off while a parade of men fuck your girl silly. And to pacify your own gnawing thoughts, you write something as ludicrous as that post.

It becoming one platform with shared mods. This let powermods create a uniform moderation style that turned it into the lefty/retard echochamber we know. With a variety of forums, you can vote with your feet, you can't do that if the only forum left is reddit.

I do remember trying out reddit pre-Gamergate (around 2013?) and it was already pretty infested with people that today would be classified as woke. Lots of male feminists and dindu noffin apologists. Maybe it all started with OWS.
When I joined reddit in 2010 as a dumb middle schooler, the default subs were already the marijuana and atheism ones. People underestimate how annoying redditors always were. OWS was huge on reddit, but it didn't really change anything. Early reddit was always le anonymous fighting the religous blah blah, and then of course the Gamergate/Fappening/Election combo happened and really ruined everything

edit: also funny, Elon and Putin used to be huge heroes on reddit, alongside like, Niel DeGrasse Tyson. The front page spent years being littered with epic communist Putin being photoshopped to ride bears shirtless and chungus Elon disproving God

I figured you guys would like this. Back in August, an anon found a subreddit dedicated to psychoanalyzing bookshelfs for red flags—its intention was to help women avoid dangerous or manipulative men. Figured I would take advantage of the subreddit for a bit of fun, enjoy my bait shelf and the ensuing analysis.

The image is 2.6 MB and extremely long, give it a moment to load.

Reddit has always been full of white knights. Sadly it’s inevitable in almost every community where non chud nerd types congregate. One whiff of a crumb of pussy and these people will defend m’lady with their lives keyboards.
