Correct, I recommend reading Friedrich Nietzsche's "Last Man". The man pioneered the concept of what we know as the "bugmen". Granted, the concept has evolved over time but it all boils down to the consequences of unchecked nihilism and vapid consumerism.
The consumerism part is spot on but are bugmen really nihilistic? In my experience the average bugman is actually heavily idealistic but with the caveat that their idealism is so warped by corporate and government propaganda that it essentially goes nowhere.

the vast majority of them are not idealists, they merely parrot the opinions and positions that the ruling class promotes for the purpose of virtue signaling.

Saw this for the first time, I wonder if reddit is going all out on cracking down on vpns/tor or if they're just completely buckling under server load.

Take a core sample of these "ideals" and you'll find at it's center a resentment of life for it's challenges. For him, the bumps and bruises of a lived life outweigh it's triumphs; he'd rather be the pets of his betters; neutered, leashed, and provided with sufficient entertainment so as to reduce life to a clean and inoffensive journey into the grave. That such a thing is seen as idealistic is a tragedy, but that is the present frame.

Beyond any judgements of their supposed ideals' worth you'll find they do not even understand the words they repeat. It's all a matter of group identity for these people; look at hipsters —the prototype for the current form— who managed to coomodify the very concept of the outgroup into a safe and normative identity. With the individualism of liberalism pressed upon him from birth, the soullet has unconsciously sought to reduce the concept of self into something that he can participate in, and so he indulges in performative identity, be it gay, or be it shitty bands. For him his group identity is a welcome simplification on life; it is a current to be swept up by so that he might never have to make a choice of his own.

Ultimately the last man is a more mundane form of nihilism; he seeks a straightforward life with no interruptions intervening, even if that should mean a life without color. He would that the world be stamped flat and ground smooth such that he might comfortably slide off into endless, dreamless sleep. He finds no meaning in life, but it is not that he has found life wanting for meaning; he has made no valuation at all.

In compensation, have a lazy nigger thread tax;

My husband (m33) & I (f30) are expecting a baby boy, We're barely catching up with preperation and getting everything ready. His mom (kind of a busy body type but can be helpful at times) invited us for dinner and said she has an important request to make.

She brought her request up at dinner table and blatantly said that she wanted to be in the delivery room with me when I give birth. I was taken back by her request -- I really thought it had something to do with the nursery or diaper brand. I said I was sorry but only my mom and my husband will be there. She made a face, got quiet for a while then brought it up again. just kept pushing saying she is as much of a grandmother as my mom and that she just wanted to be there for support and get the opportunity to see her grandbaby's first moments. my husband sided with her.

I just stared at her and said "it's alright, you can have the opportunity to be in the delivery room when it's your son who's giving birth". everyone stopped eating and my mother in law left the table in an instance. My husband had me got up although I wasn't finish with dinner but he said we should leave.

In the car, he lost it on me asking "what brain cell" made me think it was a good idea to tell his mom that. I told him his mom kept pushing after I'd already given her an answer. still he said this was the most fucked up shit he heard me say. I replied that I was just frustrated and didn't mean to hurt her feelings and cause issues. he argued that if I don't want issues then I should stop making shit difficult and just say yes to his mom's request. he then ranted about how it's his son too and then said if his mom isn't allowed in there then he won't be there too. now I don't know if he really meant this or just said it in the hear of the moment but it had me fuming.

He's been ignoring me when I try to talk to him and act like I'm not in the room. I think I might have gone too far and created tension by responding inappropriately. AITA?

EDIT/ there has been some tension between me, my husband, and his family lately this probably blew up because of built up resentment

@ConcernedAnon got the reply bug, so I can't quote your post, but

The husband is the primary retard in that `am I the asshole` post, because he's either too much of a manchild to defend his wife (if he agrees with her), or he's too much of a cuck to tell his wife that it's important to *him* that *his* mother is there, instead of cowering behind his mother's skirt.

Honestly, "you can have the opportunity to be in the delivery room when it's your son who's giving birth" is so based that I don't even believe a woman on reddit said this to a real person face to face.

I typed "reddit degeneracy" into searchbar and this subreddit was the first thing that popped up lol

It's kinda dead, but there are some interesting Reddit moments there (I would archive them but I'm too lazy):

"Woah guise, she is just like my manager at McDonalds!" (Also, you can tell that this is one of those people that think if you play as evil character in a game then you are evil in real life too.)

"Bideo Game's main character says communism bad, my experience is ruined"

"World War II games are usually set on the western front just because devs are racist"
I am disgusted by the lack of Mount and Blade.

They deserved the rope for the crime of being criminally unfunny. rdrama.net basically confirms what we knew all along, without censorship they're still a bunch of unfunny aspies who rely too much on spergposts from masterlawlz

So the post was removed because it's a "conspiracy theory" that New Orleans has a high crime rate.

It is for them. Saying a predominately African American city is riddled with crime because of poverty and low police numbers is obviously a conspiracy. You should know this.
