And most importantly
Fuck Reddit m*ds, the worst power tripping j*nnies of them all

A lot of american cities are being built on literal ponzi-scheme tier shenanigans of using an old federal ordinance to get free money for building roads, the longer the road the bigger the grant. Because of this a lot of welfarestates build long ass roads to nowhere, and then because you have a long road to nowhere they start desperately pandering to businesses like target, walmart, etc who can build massive mall like structures worth going to. These company's always then want the government to build a giant parking lot as part of the deal of them moving in and opening up jobs. Well, it turns out a lot of economists have done that math and the grant pays for the first ten years of the roads life cycle, and then the normal wear and tear starts to cost more than the grant gave them in the first place. Well these were already welfare states and couldn't put any money in, so they don't have the money to maintain the roads... but if you think about it, theres something you could do to get some more money. So these State build, you guessed it, more roads, which means more wallmarts, more parking lots, and more giant scenic trips to nowhere.

All these roads and all these spread out companies mean that people need to buy cars, and cars are expensive, and driving for an hour to get to the wallmart you work out costs 20% of your salary, which keeps you pretty desperate for a job, which Walmart just fucking loves by the way. And, because of decades of masturbatory media telling Americans how fucking COOL you are for owning a CAR. The Americans just fucking love it.

European/asia nations were built primarily with horse and carriage and walking in mind, so for the most part they have none of these problems and almost everything is in walking distance. Because space is such an obscene luxury on the streets, theres like no parking, so everyone has bikes instead. They just fuckin love their bikes, and one day a European or asian national gets on the plane and comes to America, and by the end of the day they're on /r/fuckcars.

Hopefully this has been informative.
Holy fuck, another Chuck Marohn pilled individual? On my Kiwifarms?

For anybody actually interested in urban planning and the built environment, especially if you're a Westerner, I would strongly suggest you check out Strong Towns, the organization that Chuck founded.

When it comes down to it, I think that Chuck Marohn is honestly one of the greatest economic thinkers of our time, and he'll never get his full recognition for that fact. He believes in capitalism and private property, but rails hard against financialization, government intervention, and unsustainable growth schemes. The whole thrust of his ethos is around building sustainable wealth for everyday people and the communities they create.

Pixel art outside of legitimate low-resolution applications is cringe.

Roundabouts may have made sense when traffic lights were unsophisticated, but with computers and data gathering it should be easy to create traffic lights that can manage flow as well as a roundabout while reducing space.

Roundabouts take up more space. Not sure if they are safer or more dangerous (probably depends on the design).

Sounds like commie bullshit to me. Real 'Muricans™ prefer Robert "It'd be shame if a six-lane highway destroyed your neighborhood" Moses. If it wasn't for those homos down in Forrest Hills Boston would have had another awesome highway instead they bitched and moaned and they got the Orange Line instead. There's an easy solution to end all these r/fuckcars faggoty complaints: Bury the highways Boston Big Dig-style! That way they can ride their little Pee Wee Herman bikes to their gender reassignment surgeries while us normal 'Muricans™ can drive whatever car we want on our four-lane highways. Yeah, it took 20 years and yeah a woman was killed by falling ceiling tiles in the Ted Williams tunnel less than a year after opening but that's the price of progress!

Chuck Marohn is a socialist pretending to be a libertarian. Ask him if he supports repealing urban growth boundaries or removing transit (as well as road) subsidies and you’ll see exactly how much of a free market advocate he really is. He also can’t point to an example of a sprawling city that went bankrupt due to infrastructure costs, a point critical to his thesis. He also has no explanation for why spending on schools alone is many times more than total infrastructure spending in most cities.

He is just a random guy who wants every American city to look like the historical city centers of Europe for feelz reasons; he is not an honest and neutral economist (he doesn’t have any formal economics education). He (along with the guy behind NotJustBikes) is a favorite of reddit urbanists and is one of their only sources to justify their ideology.

I have seen urban planners (and other /r/fuckcars types) unironically call them "traffic calmers," i.e. they're placed to slow down traffic in some places by deliberately creating congestion instead of doing something sensible like providing better alternate routes for "through" traffic to use that are faster than just barreling through.
I mean in places where it makes no sense at all, like obscure on-ramps with virtually no traffic.

@Null Maybe Marseygate ought to be featured? It has gained significantly more reach than the antiwork tranny janny Fox News interview fiasco

A reddit admin was caught abusing her position to set her tile cooldown to zero (note: cooldown is 5 minutes and 20 minutes for email verified and unverified users respectively) in order to erase an Orange Cat (A) that was previously posted by Reddit on twitter. (A)

This cartoon cat was the creation of Anton Dimitriev, a Ukrainian artist who is currently living in Kharkiv that is besieged by the Russian military as we speak.

His art station: https://www.artstation.com/mine_flood (A)

His deviantart: https://www.deviantart.com/anton-d/gallery (A)

In addition, reddit permanently banned everyone who placed a tile in that area or tried to change her tiles to repair the Orange Cat. Merely placing pixels near the cat resulted in a personal ban, resulting in the bannings of users from /r/AnarchyChess as their subreddit logo bordered the Orange Cat.

People who tried asking about their bans had their posts removed as well

https://reddit.com/r/place/comments/tukjit/why_was_my_account_shadowbanned_after_placing_a/ (A)

Reddit went a step further and manually deleted the accounts so that whenever you try to visit an account banned for placing a tile - you get this page.

Example of an account manually deleted - they last posted yesterday proving it is a real account. As you can see, this was an active and real account that was not only banned, but deleted (the sub he posted in has now gone private, so this is an archive).

2nd example - proof (A)

Other people caught on, resulting in posts calling it out that reached the front page. Initially the admins tried to do damage control by setting a filter on /r/place to automatically remove any post that mentions the cheating or the Orange Cat that was overwritten. Another reddit admin responded (A) saying admins have been cheating to "keep the canvas safe for everyone," a laughably poor excuse considering they didn't interfere with people drawing penises, the 4Chan logo, or swastikas over the German flag.

Didnt they do something like this like 6 years ago? With zero drama besides "some trolls tried painting a swastika" but otherwise unremarkable.

I guess thats before everything got injected by tranny juice. (:_(

Toddler subreddit

the answer is already in your question.
There really is almost a subreddit for every kind of sick minded reddit degenerate, seriously they even have multiple subreddits for pointing out just how many of these various communities exist on the site, such as r/TheresARedditForThat, r/wowthissubexists and r/Subforeverything.

Why are the subs about hard drugs allowed up. I'm not talking hallucinogens, I'm talking cocaine and fentanyl and shit. You have people on those subs taking photos of their lines and making great sob stories when a buddy of theirs ODs because the shit they gave them was laced with something else.
Probably for population control reasons, there is also a sizable overlap between Autism, Autogynephilia, and drug abuse so it also fits the culture of the site's admins.

I just discovered /r/antinatalism and its filled with a pretty decent amount of hilarious young teen angst. Basically a funnier version of /r/childfree. Here's a sample from todays top post.

The subreddit believes in ending procreation and that it is 'morally wrong'. It also emphasizes it's not about ending life even though nearly all the posters act suicidal to some degree, or angsty about their own existance while refusing to attempt to improve things for themselves.

The best part is sometimes the "traffic calmers" they install for this purpose are so small, legitimate traffic can't even always navigate it (think "furniture and appliance delivery trucks" and "moving vans") without resorting to driving over a curb or two, quite possibly damaging shit on either side of the roadway as they force their way through.

This rather misses the point of the "roundabout" concept and it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that we burgers fuck it up even when we're not driving through them.
Yeah those tiny roundabouts exist for exactly one purpose: tacitly keeping people away from an area. I've noticed they've been used more and more aggressively as soft barriers in places where a poor neighborhood buttresses a wealthy one.

It's one place I definitely agree with urban planning types: wealthy suburbs love to make their own lives less convenient if it means keeping the unwashed masses away. It's not so bad for them though because the majority of these people are usually retired.

Comments also have plenty of degeneracy

"Why couldn't I have been born a cool animal?" ... Hey buddy, it's called going outside, visiting a national park, and touching grass.

What a typical redditor, doesn't even understand you can go to nature at any time. These are the same types who mock people for living outside of the city.

Apparently among the Silicon Valley programmers they're quite numerous, and sometimes even outnumber actual women. That's where the socks meme comes from.
Yeah, how many women actually get jobs in stem. Its pretty low. At the same time tech companies get to meet their diversity quota.
