Working the soil with your hands is an enjoyable practice, no autism required. Doing yard work like mowing or trench digging is a time honored tradition to get some alone time for family men.

They are a painfully unpleasant group of people, in real-life, too. Usually visibly unhealthy, dim-as-fuck, vaguely Sectarian and have the social skills of the average redditor.

Very few have had any extended interactions with Irish Travellers. If they did, they'd shit themselves for different reasons, entirely.

I usually tell them the truth - that there's a reason why most working-class English haven't had any real issues with Travellers. The average Redditor is a middle-class, argumentative, spoiled brat who genuinely can't see how much they piss people around them off. Unlike most English people, however, most "proper" gypsies will not be afraid of losing their jobs or having the police called for beating the shit out of them.
