The hivemind had come to the conclusion maybe a year or two ago that lawns were part of a colonial-bourgeoisie mindset and that you should harbor a natural, local environment around your home instead. They seem to have missed the part where people only started keeping lawns because having thick plants around your entire home served as a magnet for rodents and bugs.

They already live in bughives, they're used to rats and roaches, and damnit, if they have to deal with it, so do you!

As much as lefties say they want to raise everybody up, what they actually do seems to be more about dragging everyone else down.

Because the real estate agent and any potential tenants for the houses in the near vicinity are going to have to look at that shitpile too, which is why the neighbours give a fuck.

It could definitely look worse, but you're on the money. Anything that seems like it will become overgrown or spill into neighboring property is going to piss off neighbors.

But is my house, I can do whatever I want with it. I don't care about my neighbor "ugly" house, "ugly" car, he should not care about my "ugly" lawn. I understand if they complain about externalities like loud noise or smell or having bee hives in my backyard, but visual externalities should not be their problem.

They will think that the neighbor is not safe and they will not buy/rent the house. So what do we do now? Have a dress code for walking outside so my neighbor can make a sale? What is more important? My freedom to wear what I want or my neighbor profit margin? I say my freedom.

Great plan, and then that real estate agent allows more and more degenerate tenants due to being unable to find people with standards. And now you have actual crime and loud noises next doors

1. Because these people are hipsters and contrarians. They're the type of people that never shut up about mechanical keyboards back when that was a thing. They're the type of people to make coffee with some overhyped overengineered $250 piece of chintsy crap when a $40 pot from Wal-Mart would do the same job. If the mainstream likes it, it's bad.

2. Because suburbs were the ones to consistently say no to Fentanyl Floyd protests. They want you out of your private home and your gun out of your hands so they can harass you without fear. Also something something white flight.

3. Because they’re absolute spastics that have a hard time making friends and they cope about it by claiming suburbia is isolating. They imagine they would have more friends if people were forced to interact with their corny asses, when the reality is the only thing they'd be interacting with is the dumpster they get thrown in.

Except that when your house looks like a shithole, then it actually tends to turn the neighborhood into a shithole too as all the people that don't like living in/next to shitholes pack up and leave as soon as they can, and the people that typically do live in shitholes (read: losers, criminals, deadbeats, etc) move in because the value of housing in your neighborhood is cheap as hell now because nobody decent wants to live there.

Home-owner associations generally suck ass for many reasons, but the basic reason that they exist (i.e. to prevent exactly what I just described in that last paragraph) is a noble reason.

It looks like they just spread mulch everywhere meaning sooner or later grass and weeds will be growing through that. Because they are autistic bugpeople who think everyone should love being cramped into a city paying absurd rent for a apartment the size of a closet because its better all the emenities you could ever want are a 30 minute walk from your pod.

The real funny people are the folks that act like they are some self sustaining homesteader because they live in some planned suburb with a dying mall.

I really don't understanding living in the suburbs. It's all the negatives of urban and rural life, with none of the benefits.
