reddit General

Honestly I just assumed it was an easy cop-out that he wouldn't have to answer for because he can't be expected to comment on ongoing legal matters.
Alternatively, if that's referring to NSFW stuff, maybe they're facing increasing scrutiny over CP. We've seen Twitter and Pornhub really try to clean house over this. Instagram also is currently getting a light shone on them over this. It's been a problem that keeps popping up on reddit since /r/jailbait was a thing and I could see it being a bigger problem now that onlyfans is big and lots of them try to advertise on reddit.
Or it could be what you suggested where it's a Twitter Files type scenario, although, main-line reddit is so astroturfed on any political topic, I really doubt that they'd need it.
In any of those scenarios it's still a vague reason to add to the list to tell mods to shut up and they're not going to get their way.
I mean it could be all, but the easiest answer is the child porn. It would explain why every Discord mod has like 10 TB's worth if all they have to do is hop on reddit and scoop some up. The answer is one of two: Ban porn, kill reddit, or B: Heavily fucking moderate it with bots, access to that FBI database to just insta zap shit from the site, and people you know hate that shit and get paid enough to purge any CP they see.

As for the astroturfing, how do you know it's organic? Some sure, but if you've ever been to 4chan, you can sometimes tell whats real, and whats just a FBI agent on K talking about glock switches and trying to honeypot someone. I'm just saying man, saying the FBI doesn't have a twitter style backroom is more suprising than if they did

I can't say I know, just that it doesn't seem necessary. It's seemed to happen since way before 2016 on reddit, far before any official twitter files things were alleged to happen, from what I understand. Plus reddit has a super simple mechanism that doesn't require setting up an official glowie department at reddit inc- you can just get a mod position in the big subs. Suddenly anything you don't like can be removed for vague reasons like "off topic", "already discussed in a different thread", ect before anyone ever sees them. Even if a thread manages to get big, there's the classic "y'all can't behave + locked comments" after which any wrong think can be swept up as desired. Once it's obvious to users that a subreddit is going to be biased against them, the naughty voices naturally select themselves out and it leaves almost a self-sustaining echo-chamber.

I guess they're moving to closing subs "indefinitely" now which basically means until they get bored and open them back up.

If the jannies really wanted to fuck with Reddit they should just start banning people from their subs randomly. Just slow drip it so it's hard for admins to tell what's a legit ban and what's a random ban. Keep it up until they accomplish...whatever it is they're trying to do.

They're too dumb to think of this though.
If they really wanted to fuck with reddit they should do the opposite, ban no-one and not remove any posts.

only jannies literally do it for free
They don't even get free hot pockets. The only pockets they get for free are rot pockets from Medicaid.
Why the fuck would he get rid of porn? He can make money off those coomers.
Because an IPO connected to a porn outlet will go over like a lead Hindenburg.

Also a lot of it is straight up CP or revenge porn or other illegal content that opens them up to civil and criminal liability, and their unpaid tranny janny groomers like Steven "Tardfinn" Akins are in full support of that shit and even post it to subreddits they don't like to get them banned.

Dude, Reddit would be in the black for a decade with only a month's worth of cooming. Make it a mandatory monthly subscription, 10 bucks a month, every month, no yearly plan, I want those motherfuckers to know that they are paying for porn on the internet and not just typing in boobs into google images

It's not about Reddit being in the black. Porn sites are free. With Petabytes of content and unlimited bandwidth. Making money isn't the goal. It's about social engineering. Manufactured consent. Manipulating public opinion.

I finally decided to delete reddit and my account entirely because the one subreddit I happen to still check for 30 seconds a day has pride shit pinned to the top by jannies, because even a small sub about a video game cannot stay unmolested for very long. I can't wait until reddit is completely shuttered and these retards have even less purpose then they have now, and they deserve all of it and more. I sent them a modmail in anger, a small observation that if realized will remain forever and will torment them with the truth every time they see it. Nothing is more painful to a redditor than a bit of truth and reality.

The AMA unceremoniously went live. The "reddit" brand account starts with the usual spiel:

As expected, they're only answering the softball questions and keep slandering the Apollo dev, who shared a call between him and spezstic regarding the API pricing and a joke that didn't land. (A)

Considering the last answer from each of them was roughly a hour ago, they probably dipped already and just letting it burn. Not that they'll change course or anything or affect the IPO (maybe if they care about optics?). Apologies if I didn't thumbnail any of the images. I don't really recommend reading through the thread as a whole, it's a huge circlejerk as expected.

People cut spez too much slack. He is a nasty, weaselly, evasive little faggot. I hope disabled people sue reddit for trashing the apps they CLAIM will still be free (even though I bet this is a lie because MANY of the main third party apps have accessibility features). That more or less shut down an electronic library in California because there was no way to make it accessible to blind faggot fucks. Seriously fuck blind people but I hope they sue.

The conservative subreddit has been getting brigaded extra hard recently. Any comments that are even slightly conservative are downvoted to oblivion and all the top comments are some variation of "as a conservative... [insert left wing talking point here] the thread about the trump indictment being unsealed today is a great example of this. Of course brigading is supposed to be against reddit's rules but they won't do anything about it.
Even the mods of the subreddit are trying to do something about it but the first post on their most recent mod post still seems like it is trying to shift blame.

Although the mod post before that had better responses

This is the trump thread from today look at that top comment, well not actually the top comment the actual top comment got deleted for some reason, but this is the most highly upvoted comment on a supposedly conservative sub
