Redditors are such faggots with their passive-aggressive "protesting". Just pack up and leave. Taking their irreplaceable communities (funny, right) elsewhere would damage Reddit and mods keep their positions of power important protector role. That's barely a joke, T_D did it and they've got their own hidey-hole to do whatever they want.

I was thinking about why they just don't do this, and what if they refuse to leave because it would reveal how small these subs really are? Both in size of human population and community strength. It would be a tremendous blow to the mods seeing that they've fostered a community of 90% bots and 10% atomized individuals that can't hold a conversation beyond upboats, wholesome chungus, fuck le spez. It might even push these trannies over the edge seeing that doing it for free doesn't make any difference at all.
 
I just want a return to smaller forum based communities spread across the internet. No centralisation, just a bunch of different niche groups that have their own quirks, community spirit and injokes. No overarching reddit shit where someone will say a niche reference in another subreddit and "omg X is LEAKING" shit happens, just an isolated community that caters to that specific topic, as well as having some other general communities to talk shit in.

But here's the kicker: hosting a forum is really fucking expensive, so if they want to do it for FREE on reddit then they have to abide by REDDIT'S rules. So if an admin says "mop it up with your tongue janny", they have nothing they can do other than get on their knees and start licking.

That's what a lot of mods don't seem to grasp, it's not THEIR community, it's reddit's. Reddit pays to host their fucking niche porn subreddit, so fucking with advertisers absolutely should be met with movie villain tier evil. They don't realise that if they actually had their own community they'd be paid LESS because any forum is usually a loss leader that's supplemented by the good will of the community.

Reddit mods never had a single bit of leverage to begin with and now they'll probably have even less. The worst bit is that if they actually put their money where their mouth is and started their own new community then they could probably use their own 'brand' to grow it pretty fast via leddit refugees. But they won't. They'll use free shit like discord and hope to god that you like discussing topics in a fucking chatroom.
 
I know this whole ordeal has mainly been about mods powertripping, but how exactly were these blackouts decreed across various subreddits? Did the mods decide on it all by themselves? Did they do some kind of polling on their subreddits, including when to end the blackout? Were there any subreddits that polled to do a two-day blackout only for mods to then have it last longer?

I think the wrestling subreddit r/SquaredCricle only got back up again in the past couple of days, and I have to imagine that there were a lot of users there who would've rather been able to talk live about the years-in-the-making WWE moment last Friday rather than do this blackout thing at all.

Like every other time a reddit blackout is attempted, there's a mod discord that tries to organize that specific attempt.
Sorry if late, KF has been very difficult about loading lately, but the great minds of reddit have convened and asked why they just don't crowdfund to get a >50% stake in reddit.
What's stopping those subreddits and users who partook in and supported the recent blackout simply start a GoFundMe, and raise enough money to buy a majority stake in reddit

Tried to post this in r/NoStupidQuestions, because I honestly don't know the answer.
If the movement has enough support, wouldn't those who supported the blackout be able to purchase a majority share in Reddit when the IPO comes out? Furthermore, even if they don't have a large enough share to make themselves a majority, wouldn't they still be able to influence votes significantly enough to be relevant and thus force Reddit into appeasing them when these issues arise?

Taking a bunch of redditor's money and buying an essentially worthless company in order to force it to continue to burn through money instead of profit is probably the biggest reddit moment I've seen in awhile. I hope he fleeces more redditors than the wall street bets scams.

The admins just deleted all the mods off /r/mildlyinteresting for reasons unclear (it had reopened, but they were having a vote on if they should close again)

Edit: Aha - the admins pounced just as /r/mildlyinteresting was about to go NSFW and start porn spamming, so I guess they started following up /r/interestingasfuck after.

They may also be locking recalcitrant moderators out of their reddit accounts. At this point powerjannies losing moderator status and all their karma and posting history may mean that reddit's "we think you're suicidal" feature could come in handy.

The mod's latest tactic is to make everyone moderators, and when everyone's a moderator, no one is!

And then you go on the profile and notice it's ALSO a moderator (all subreddits hidden of course)

So this faggot mod has two accounts in which he's moderating subreddits. Don't you think that's a LITTLE odd? What's even weirder is if you go on said profile, they interact with the very sub they moderate.

Lets hope this account also gets perma-barred.

/r/redditrequest is inundated with people asking for control of the newly unmoderated subreddits; the jannies are having a meltdown because removing the mods or being able to find replacement mods were both things they were certain would never happen (plus they thought their porn spam was a loophole they'd totally get away with).
