Every moderator on reddit could be a decent guy and the admins would still force them to mod the woke shit. For those of us who were online long enough to see the rise and fall of forums, from the early all-on-one-page insidetheweb message boards you could crash with a simple <noframes> html tag in the days before sanitized text inputs, to ezboards, to things like VBull and phpBB and xenoforo and others, have basically watched hope and promise turn to shit with reddit consolidating everything and censoring and pushing political agendas, I imagine the internet features a lot less prominently in our lives since I don't enjoy daily dosages of propaganda.

I honestly feel like reddit was very influential on turning Gen Z and Millennials woke so my hatred of this company is very deep and personal, among a few other reasons. They're just scumbags.

you're misreading what i'm stating, they're all garbage now and the website is unusable and unsalvageable. again, trying too hard to find something funny to post here. i'd put in a better effort to pay attention next time, adding some nuance for understanding is not the same as defending them. if I could push a red button that would drop them all into a vat of acid I'd be on that like a rat in a skinner box.

there are, however, cliques of varying awfulness on the website. you missed by point on how these mods got power, they all became powermods by power trading with each other. this didn't turn into one big power mod community but a few webs of related people trading mod power with each other, some worse than others. some of them aren't even that political per se, they're just power-hungry idiots who shouldn't be in a position of oversight.
