You know I can't play this guessing game. I will say I do not post on reddit and fighting this shit on the platform at this stage is autistic and a waste of time. I'd like to see reddit completely fall apart and if a non-propaganda service cannot exist I'd like to see nothing take its place and let people be forced to either make weird obscure forums again or hang out in real life again. Every moderator on reddit could be a decent guy and the admins would still force them to mod the woke shit. Besides, none of the people running reddit deserve any success in life whatsoever and I'm rooting for personal failure for spez.

For those of us who were online long enough to see the rise and fall of forums, from the early all-on-one-page insidetheweb message boards you could crash with a simple <noframes> html tag in the days before sanitized text inputs, to ezboards, to things like VBull and phpBB and xenoforo and others, have basically watched hope and promise turn to shit with reddit consolidating everything and censoring and pushing political agendas, I imagine the internet features a lot less prominently in our lives since I don't enjoy daily dosages of propaganda.

I honestly feel like reddit was very influential on turning Gen Z and Millennials woke so my hatred of this company is very deep and personal, among a few other reasons. They're just scumbags.

Do any of you remember those old insidetheweb message boards? I never meet anyone who does.

Yeah. There's always a certain element that attaches itself to niche communities when there's promise of no mops. But that if can be done, it can be done. I don't even think any of those has ever faced the same technical challenges KF has barring the usual bunkerchan raid here or there.

Now there are some semi decent subleddits where the faggot degeneracy only pops up infrequently, but there is no subleddit that is 100% poz free. you're misreading what i'm stating, they're all garbage now and the website is unusable and unsalvageable. again, trying too hard to find something funny to post here. i'd put in a better effort to pay attention next time, adding some nuance for understanding is not the same as defending them. if I could push a red button that would drop them all into a vat of acid I'd be on that like a rat in a skinner box.

there are, however, cliques of varying awfulness on the website. you missed by point on how these mods got power, they all became powermods by power trading with each other. this didn't turn into one big power mod community but a few webs of related people trading mod power with each other, some worse than others. some of them aren't even that political per se, they're just power-hungry idiots who shouldn't be in a position of oversight.

the worst people are the ones actually in communication with the admins. they chat with spez and co on slack. then you have the idiots like awkwardtheturtle and Gallowboob and others. I'm not sure who is and isn't in the inner circle exactly and I don't care, my point is the opposite of what you're trying to state I'm saying: reddit is beyond salvation because not the community per se but the admins themselves.

there's this persistent false narrative where people here are acting like spez is bitch-slapping the power mods when he's only slapping the lesser-loyal underlings he doesn't have full control of. anyway, he'll unsuspend them if they grovel and promise never to do it again. awkwardtheturtle is probably coming back. spez and the admins, and the worst power mods are essentially the same group and people keep pretending there's this huge conflict between the admins and all power mods.

I would like to hold hope that the changes in June tones down the overmoderating, but I do concede that Reddit will likely just get worse. But honestly it's a win win as itll either become like Twitter and based or like Facebook and forgotten.
