reddit's the only site I use for scrolling when I wake up 2 hours early or am taking a big smash or whatever - I don't have insta or snap or FB or twitter etc. - and holy SHIT has it done downhill since the janny revolt
like the average link on the front page is 16 hours old instead of 3-4, there's way fewer comments and so many popular subs are still dark that really weirdo shit (by reddit standards) like rate me subs and celeb news are making the front page every day
say what you like about the effectiveness of the janny protest but they've absolutely managed to - what's the opposite of polishing a turd?

A bunch of OG accounts, all of the terminally online types, deleted their accounts in protest in the main local subs I read. I can't say it's made a bit of difference in my experience on the site, other than general lack of comments and retards slap fighting the subs are pretty much exactly as useful as before. Reddit bullshit is a full on genre at this point. They're all influencing one another and building on tropes from the work that has come before (this is important later!). They're at least ten cycles deep of "shut-in writes bullshit, other shit-in believes its true, writes their own bullshit version of the bullshit" at this point.
