Here's my question about all these covid basket cases- were they always this neurotic and obsessive about health issues? Is that who these freaks are? Or did the pandemic unlock a vast swathe of dormant mental illness is perviously "normal" individuals. Like, were these people the ones who were already going to the doctor once a week thinking something was giving them cancer?
I think they've always been neurotic OCD autismo freaks but the government successfully managed to convince them that the coof is a literal plague. First there was the wave of mass media panic, conflicting information, daily newswatches of people who were already dying of cancer, heart issues, obesity and old age getting finished off by the initial more dangerous strain of covid and becoming "covid casualties". Then the doomposting and cherrypicking of worst case scenarios out of scientific studies began, they developed the headcanon of "long covid" which is a horrible terminal disease that is responsible for everything bad that happens in your life from your unhealthy skin through your hair falling out, your heart rate being erratic, bad sleep all the way to soylent prices being too high and people looking at you weirdly. (Hint: all of this is really happening to these people but it isn't because they have "long covid" if you catch my drift.)

A lot of these people live in countries where the government truly did fuck everyone's life up mercilessly over nothing in particular, and living for two whole years in legally forced seclusion can screw with anyone's brain. These people most likely just had a particular predisposition.

Funny you should ask!

I’ve gone into autist modes over them, and decided to dig a tiny bit.

Here’s a post from today, complaining about Christmas being ruined.

Her family has clearly moved on, while this poor chick is going crazy over HEPA filters and air cleanliness. She’s immuno compromised you see!

IMG_4083.jpeg
Three months ago we have her freaking out about an ER/urgent care visit.

Another post goes into detail about her mystery illness. She claims to have had “symptoms of autonomic dysfunction for years”, but the doctors diagnose her with Globus Hystericus, aka: Crazy young chick syndrome. Interesting that some of her symptoms: Difficulty with swallowing, shortness of breath, are often associated with anxiety.
IMG_4081.jpeg

In another posts she freak/doom posts about “polluted air” and whether someone, at some point, had been MASKLESS (gasp!) inside her hospital room. Doctor is clueless, yet she still reports “autoimmune symptoms.”
IMG_4078.jpeg

Another post on a different subreddit that she deleted. The responses seem to indicate that it was more nervous hypochondriac stuff.
IMG_4080.jpeg

A seven months old posts where she reports more anxious symptoms, but is convinced something serious is afoot. We also get the explanation for her throat problems. She… Sprayed mouth sanitizer on her vocal cords?!

He does understand that if he removes his mask in his room, in front of open air, he’s opening himself to Covid? I mean, think of the millions of people in his area that are infected or whatever. Clearly he is just an anti-science bigot.

She… SHE is an immunocompromised young lady, let down by medical authorities incapable of diagnosing her with anything but bitch basic anxiety.

The ladies over at the Munchie thread should keep an eye on this chick imho.

Fellow Kiwis, I bring you more COVID insanity fresh off Reddit…

First, a question that seems rather superfluous…
View attachment 5578594

Imagine my surprise when every answer to the post was either a “yes!” Or a post seething about how their relatives refused to mask 24-7, install a separate air supply, etc.
View attachment 5578593

“How do I best come across like a nutcase to my family?”
View attachment 5578589
“Just order an air supply from Amazon!”

Meanwhile, this “COVID longhauler” found another suspicious symptom!

The veins in question:

“How does the blood-brain barrier work?”

A SPINAL TAP?!? Surely they wouldn’t…

OH YES THEY WOULD!
View attachment 5578588
“Weird shit started happening after I got my unnecessary spinal tap!” NO SHIT!!!

The COVID “longhaulers” are also convinced that a particular new drug will fail. Why?

“THE MEDICAL STAFF DOING THE TRIAL DOESNT WORSHIP THE MASK ENOUGH! They WILL NEVER be successful!”

A single covidiot speaks up in defense of said trial, but alas… He’s a minority.

I can’t even understand the kind of thinking that makes one go: “If they don’t mask, it’s all useless!”

Masking seems to be an act of worship for these folks. That and of course seething.

“RESEARCH STAFF NOT MASKING?!? HIW CAN I REPORT THEM! They need PUNISHMENT!!”
I 100% support the growth of this community on reddit. Keep all of them inside and away from the outside world.

With all these crazy COVID people constantly wearing masks, it really just makes me wonder: If I pulled that off, would you die?

Btw: Since I wish nothing but good health and Christmas blessings for my fellow Kiwis, here’s a list of a few simple precautions you can take to stay COVID free, courtesy of our friends on Reddit!

No biggie!

It's partially good fashioned hypocondria/munchie shit but another factor that you see in a lot of reddit communities is that most reddit users are extremely lonely, socially awkward, and absolutely desperate for anyone to acknowledge their existence.

When they started going insane during Covid for the first time in their entire lives people paid attention to them and even better praised them for being "smart."

They are incredibly incredibly desperate for those days again when other people praised and complimented them.

Tl'dr it's a cult preying on lonely mentally ill people.

K guys… I’ll fuck off with the weird COVIDiot posts for a while, but this one was just too delicious to pass on.

REDDITOR GOES FULL GRINCH!
IMG_4085.jpeg
IMG_4086.jpeg

So basically this dude’s plans for Christmas is to sit in his room and be miserable, while his family is having fun and making memories downstairs.

Sounds fun!

A fellow COVIDiot praises his heroics, and we get a guest post from your average smug, euphoric atheist-style Reddit.

IMG_4087.jpeg
“Holidays?! BAH HUMBUG!! Arbitrary CRISIS FULL OF RISK!!”

And what’s this?! A rare glimpse of sanity, as someone points out that maybe… Juuust maybe, seeing your family once in a while is more important than sitting in your room “minimizing risk”.
IMG_4088.jpeg
A COVIDiot immediately slaps down this kind of dangerous thinking.

HOW DARE the family feel ENTITLED to his participation in a family holiday?! MADNESS!

None of these people even remotely consider that being a sedentary fatass with a diet consisting entirely of fast food, soda, and Cheeto dust may be contributing to some of their health problems.

I've always thought it was incredibly weird that reddit tries to make incest which is almost universally viewed in all cultures as trashy low class behavior as some misunderstood fetish for intellectuals.
Wait... if your incestuous, doing the ol cousin fuckin, wouldn't you be the same race or pretty close? I'm just saying, you would kind of have to be racist

Granted, it’s about threesomes, but this cartoon really replicates real life since most of the photos shown on this thread seem to look just like the drawings on the right.

It's especially funny because historically one of the reasons incest was a thing was people thought it would keep their bloodline pure and undiluted by inferior mongrel genetics.

That's kind of fashy.

"Everyone thinks incest is horrible, but everyone is wrong, and I, le epic redditor, know better than those pedestrian fucks." That's all there is to it, really, it's classic midwit behavior. "Everyone likes buildings that are pleasant to look at. Not me though, I just looooove brutalism." "People like to be able to drive wherever they want. Me, I want my movement limited to within a 15 minute walking distance." "Meat? No thank you, only a dumbass would eat meat. I want to eat bugs." and so on and so on and...

they're basically the same kind of people who would have been fundamentalist nutjobs 20-30 years ago

my theory is that these people were always hypochondriacs to some degree, but what turned them into total lunatics was the extreme propaganda blitz that the mass media ran in 2020 and 2021.
take people who are already neurotic and nervous about infectious disease in general, subject them to 24/7 hardcore fearmongering about this new disease for two years straight, and the result is that they are driven into extreme panic and paranoia - that's how these zero covid posters came to be.
