You're forgetting the group they consider the most important minority in the world—troons. Specifically, TiMs.
The absurdity of the assertion that troons who got dick splitting inversions went from hairdressers to specialist engineers is something that only a redditor could believe.
And all the comments can't seem to reckon with why the NHS being involved in turning kids into eunuchs is a public issue—it's socialized healthcare. The idea that all that matters in a healthcare system is the doctor-patient relationship is ironically capitalist, because it assumes there's no financial externalities on the rest of the public. Once you start paying for everyone's healthcare out of the public fisc, everyone has an interest in what's being paid for and for whom those things are being paid. If you only want "the patient's" (read: the hysterical mother's) opinion to matter, then they should go pay for it themselves.

but i think that isn't even the point of that comment. i think the point is that your kids are gonna hate you because the guy is clearly a scumbag of the highest order, so having children with him means they'll either grow up in a dysfunctional household with an abusive father and an enabling mother, or alternatively grow up fatherless after he decides to bounce on them.
like, this guy comes up with ideas such as "i want my girl to cuck me with my friends so i can punish her with a hatefuck". think about what that says about his mindset, his worldview, his character.

Probably already someone posted similar but on the local subs I've noticed a few archetypes:
The Scold. The Scold is the guy that while not a jannie, seeks upvotes by immediately (and I do mean immediately) hopping in any thread with "did you real need us to Google That For You" or something like "What answers did you get when you posted this on the other sub"? This makes up 90% of their replies on a heavily karma'd account.
The Expert. The Expert knows everything. He's unfazed talking about a problematic local 4 way stop, or zoning, or the political and economic future of the entire city or hell, even the politics of a local protest. Some overlap with /Politics usually and also /fuckcars
The Joker. The Joker has a steady rotation of "bangers" that he pulls out to harvest those upvoats. Posting about a strange odor or smell in your neighorhood? The Joker is quick with the "I had a bean burrito from [local chain] last night". Asking about the hours of transit? I never believed I would be making this post and I don’t care about anyone knowing about this problem after I post this, but my boyfriend who I’ve been with for 2 years has compelled me to. Half heartedly I am hoping that me basically ranting here may shed some light onto just how silly and unintentionally racist some people can be - hopefully many of you may also have some takeaways at the end of it.
I’m a second gen immigrant born in the US. My boyfriend and I moved in shortly few weeks ago and I’m naturally discreet about my bathroom habits. Now since my parents were Indians, we usually have a bidet attached to our toilet seats after we do #2. Now I recognise that things are different here so in the house I grew up in, we had an attachment.
Since the move in with my boyfriend, I haven’t really talked about adding a bidet right now as I have a portable, handheld bidet (I bought it off Amazon for under 10 dollars) which functions just about the same. Also plumbing might cost us a few hundred dollars and it’s not really a priority right now.
My boyfriend was looking for something in the drawers in the bathroom and found my bidet. He came to me and asked me what it was - I told him as much. At first he was taken aback and I thought he’s just curious so I didn’t think much of it until I answered how I use it.
Skip this part if you don’t want to get grossed out. Generally, after I wipe my bum with TP properly, I wash down the area using my hands (one hand I hold my bidet and squeeze it repeatedly to squirt the water, other I use to rub my butt) and wipe my area dry again with TP. Then I make sure to thoroughly wash my hands with soap twice. I don’t see it any different from washing your butt in the shower after you poop.
ALSO FYI: I fill up my bidet with tap water before I do number 2. Didn’t think people would assume I use the water from the toilet bowl to clean my ass.
He was immediately disgusted and made me feel gross about using my hands down there. I was so confused and hurt - like is it any different from washing your ass in the shower? Have I ever shamed him for using TP exclusively? No. I just request we both wash down there before having sex.
Now he’s just making me feel like he’s done something abominable by holding my hands and kissing it. Dude, I washed them every single time. My hands might be cleaner than yours since you probably don’t even wash your own hands after holding your wiener after taking a piss.
I really wanna just scream at him for how ridiculous and childish and immature he’s acting. Is this something salvageable? I cannot fathom going to a couple’s therapist to discuss his hang ups about how I clean my poop! I’m just so annoyed

EDIT: Big mistake posting here and lots of ignorant people here. But I’m gonna let this post stay because I am not going to apologise for how my culture practices hygiene and we shouldn’t have to. Turns out a lot of people who talk about mental health and importance of respecting others can’t even look beyond their own culture. Lots of disappointing takes and close mindedness. America isn’t the only country in this world, guys. Yes, we also eat rice with our hands just like you eat your burgers. I never got food poisoning because my parents also taught me the 7 steps to wash my hands thoroughly. What may be weird to you may not be weird to the rest of the world.

My brother’s kid (22f) came out as trans on her 21st birthday about a year ago and changed her name from Lance to Lacey (fake names). Most of our family accepted it and the ones who didn’t weren’t close anyway, except our sister Eva (45F).
We are a Native American family with a lot of creative names and my sister’s birth name is something close to Evangeline, but she decided to go by Eva after a white kid said her name was “rezzed out” (low class/stereotypical name from an Indian reservation). She’s insisted on Eva for about 35 years and we all obliged.
Now, she’s regularly been calling my trans niece by her dead name Lance since she came out as trans so I started calling her Evangeline, which she hates! The whole family caught on and have only been referring to her as Evangeline for about a year now and she is furious every time she comes to family events!
Recently she’s been calling me by my full first name to bother me. My first name is a portmanteau-hyphenation of my Mom’s four sisters name. Something like Alexianna-Dorothique but whackier. People have always called me A.D or Lexi or my brother called me DoDo since he as a kid. I LOVE my full first names but it’s cumbersome to use an EIGHT syllable name regularly. Well, my full name caught on with family and friends.
Just to spite Evangeline, we have all reverted back to our full names instead of nicknames. Our dad is no longer Frank, he’s Franklin. Our Mom is no longer Roz, she is Rosalin. Brother is no longer Nate, he is Nathaniel, SIL IS NO LONGER Kate, she is Katherine etc. (all fake names)
This has truly driven Evangeline away, which was the plan in the. First place. Lacey makes for better company so good riddance to one crappy sister!

New 9/11 just dropped
Four years ago today--Friday, March 13, 2020, was the day that POTUS declared a National Emergency for the COVID pandemic. Following this, the dominoes quickly fell: Schools around the country closed. Churches canceled services. Sporting events and concerts were canceled. Restaurants and movie theaters closed. Grocery store shelves were empty, and nobody could spare a square of toilet paper. Anybody who could do their job remotely was sent home.
After a two hour meeting of the emergency management team at the college where I work, they made the call to send all our students home, effective immediately. As did colleges across the country.
We instantly recognized that we were in an historic moment. It was stressful, scary, and BIG. It affected everyone. Talking with some colleagues of mine months after the fact, the most recent historical event we could think of that felt like it held such historical significance and weight was 9/11.
Especially us elder millennials, who were entering young adulthood in 2001 remember that same fear and uncertainty about the immediate future and what it held for our country.
I'm curious if anybody else felt the same? How did your lives change on March 13, 2020?
Edit - I've truly appreciated reading some of your recollections and experiences. Others? You're absolutely twisting yourselves in knots to misunderstand and be offended at what I wrote. Do better. I'm not saying the two things are the same. It's that they conjured up similar feelings of the world being turned on its head and the realization that things were about to dramatically change in our lives. I'd been following the march of the virus around the world with a growing sense of dread, but at the same time, felt relatively safe, because it wasn't here yet. The week ending in March 13, 2020, was the sudden realization: "It's real, it's here, and it's happening on our shores."
For now, though, I'm turning off notifications, y'all are blowing up my phone. Do continue to share your stories though.

This is my first year teaching at a high school that is Title 1. I am a white male. I have great relationships with the kids but they make comments. Several of my black students call me a n-gga. I have tried to ignore it, and I can, but I don’t know if I should be? For example, I made a joke and one of the black kids laughs and says “this n-gga crazy!” and I just pretend I didn’t hear it. I sent out a message on remind about homework and a black student replies “n*gga what homework?”
I know by ignoring it I give them the pass to continue. They are nice kids but I feel like I shouldn’t have to be the one to fix their language, nor do I want to try to and end up on the 6 o’clock news for picking this battle. I just find it strange that I am being called this slur as a white male.

Reddit had two groups who got into it in the early days. Those already online, coming from forums, IIRC etc. The others were new to the internet and reddit was their first spot. Over time, more and more people were "just reddit", so any hint of what the web used to be like died down.
