Monkeypox was never going to be the next covid it's a sexually transmitted disease but I understand the point you are trying to make. it was completely dropped by the media once it raised uncomfortable questions about a protected group exactly like stop asian hate.

Sure, I only mean that the hysterics in the wake of the Atlanta shooting were all out of proportion to the actual threat. There were interviews with Asians who said they daily feared for their lives. They seemed to believe that packs of Klansmen were hunting down Asians in every city in the country.

A particularly ridiculous case caused by the media's fabrication of a hate crime epidemic is that in April 2021 (weeks after the Atlanta shooting), an Asian man in California decided to "retaliate" against white people by raping a white woman. He completely failed and was quickly apprehended, and it turns out his victim was at least part Asian herself:

There was an article that I had to have read on the Farms back when monkeypox was in full swing. It was written 1st-person gonzo style. This journo went out to a popular cruising spot (children’s park, but I repeat myself). There were flocks of men fucking anything and everything. At one point, the author desrcibed the youngest man he’d seen there dropping trou and “presenting” himself by bending down over a child’s swing. Said man noticed the journal, proceeded to call the journo a pervert, said he didn’t have monkeypox, then went back to the anonymous strangers who had formed a line.

I searched as best I could. Believe it or not, it was an LGBT rag — I thought Pink News. Still couldn’t find it.

If anyone happens to remember this, I’d love a link to the archive. Easy way to peak anyone with doubts about this community.
