The main problem is that most people don't understand the difference between "antinatalism" and "childfree".Because that's idiotic and utterly misses the point of philosophical antinatalism. I know you're responding to redditors, and their viewpoint is completely incoherent, but the general thrust of antinatalism is that the net value of a completely random person being born is negative.
It decreases the amount of value in the world. It is thus a mistake to bring another person into the world.
How exactly does killing yourself fix this? Perhaps despite the inherent problem of being born at all, you're actually enjoying life. So you could kill yourself. Then, you remove your own enjoyment of life, as well as inflicting permanent pain on everyone who ever cared about you.
How does that fix the problem? It doesn't. You can't retroactively cancel your own existence, nor can you erase the fact that you existed at all. All you'd be doing is erasing any enjoyment you were having while simultaneously inflicting pointless pain on everyone around you.
Sorry, your post definitely adequately addresses redditards, but you did it using reddit logic yourself.
Suicide is not the answer to existential quandaries.
People who believe in antinatalism actually don't hate children, in fact, they actually feel sympathy for most of them that got to be born in an awful place with no food, shelter and sometimes horrible parents. I've read a few posts in the actual antinatalism subreddit, and while you get your political spergeries about Trump and some of them believe that all children = annoying brats, most of them actually just want to reduce the suffering in the world by having less people on it... which I think it's a little retarded, but I can kinda see where they are coming from. They usually never complain about families who actually can provide a safe and good household besides "they're making animals suffer and produce a lot of trash", but that would be an another story.
Childfree people however, at least the reddit variety, are some of the absolutely most repulsive people I've read online. Most of these people are basically manchildren who hate anyone from the age of 0-17. If there's a family with 8 children, with everyone happy, and 0 financial problems? "Look at these stupid breeders that aren't allowed the many joys of life like smoking weed and buying funko pops lol, how sad that they must give up their freedom to engage in limitless hedonistic actions to take care of dumb children that scream at you for free!". Being antinatalist to them is just an excuse to hate on children, they never actually believe in the net value of being born and how humans are making the planet suffer, they just hate that they're actual adults and that they can't enjoy a pure hedonistic lifestyle.
Basically, one feels bad for people being born, and the other hates newborns, because anything that gives you any responsibility should be avoided, and what else could give someone more responsibility than taking care of their own offspring? Why do that when I can use that time to consoom more product?
