I gotta say, for as often as redditors are (rightfully) called cringe, I've developed a strong tolerance for their gay LARPing, but there is nothing more embarrassing to me than these kind of snide, cyclical flirtations with references to violence. "Haha what if Luigi met him with a bow and arrow IN MINECRAFT /sneed " I'll actually begin respecting redditors more once they go full Total Chud Death mode—at least then it won't be dressed up in such pathetic prose and stock euphemisms.

It will never cease to amuse me that Reddit's two biggest Civil War heroes (John Brown and William T. Sherman) were, respectively, a schizo Christian apocalypse preacher and a guy whose postwar career was spent waging war against the American Indians and advocating for their complete extermination.

if you actually read what the journalists were attempting to do in 1933 Germany with a literally thought antagonizing the Nazis was a hilarious thing and then Goebbels said we're going to shut the line Jewish mouths and they literally thought he was going to do nothing and they were surprised when he sent people to the offices to arrest them

I am loving all of the concern trolling about what information DOGE has access to. Bipartisan bills that tear away the fundamental privacy rights of citizens have been getting pushed through Congress for decades. The FBI has been doing warrantless searches since it was first founded. But now that the "wrong" person is in charge suddenly they're all about the privacy of your data.

Some breaking news: r/conservative managed to make the front page.
only for a liberal to post a screenshot of a reply to this post saying, So January 6th didn't happen? on r/clevercomebacks ratioing the r/conservative post and getting 100k upvotes.

Reddit cannot die fast enough; it has become worse than Tumblr ever was.
You don't actually want reddit to die, remember how shitty the internet got after Tumblr posters immigrated?

The Abolitionists disagreed: their early campaigining was based on comparing the two, taking a principled stand against both the Barbary Slave Trade and American slavery, when most White Americans cared more about their own kind being enslaved by the former and didn't care about the latter.

Conflating convict labor debt peonage with chattel slavery (by this logic White indentured servitude is chattel slavery).

Nice bedroom for a Victorian dandy.
I was gonna say I kinda like it. Im I guess a sucker for vintage furniture because I kinda grew up spending most of my time at grandmas house and she had a bunch of furniture like this. He could have some more decorations tho, then I saw it was 'male living spaces' so hes probably one of those dudes doing the man version of Marie Kondos thing inadvertantly.
