The fact that people regularly still fall for GPT's default
layout is honestly just incredible. Redditors don't even have the excuse of "ooh old people can't see AI". Something's very wrong with these people on a basic level.
The typical "Medial Literate" response is to identify with anything traditional morality would consider evil. Orcs, the bugs in Starship Troopers, etc. No action is inexcusable, except bigotry and the sexualization of women. This is why the Redditor's idea of true villainy are always caricatures of Trump and his supporters. There is no greater evil than the Orange Man.

Prior to chat GPT and even reddit accounts being valuable enough to age and sell to astroturfers, there were still creative writer types all over different reddit subs seemingly doing it just for fun. Other people treat karma farming as a game just to make number go up. The unidan guy pretended to be an expert in every facet of every science just because he enjoyed redditors worshiping him as le heckin science man. If there's none of the more common explanations fit, there's always just "people are weird". Some people really do just go onto the Internet and tell lies with no motives beyond their own enjoyment.
They're not just using it as a way to dunk on America. They're using the tragics death of an acquaintance to farm internet points online, and didn't even do it on the day of the tragedy.
