I agree. This sounds like something a the Democrat party cooked up for a propaganda poster. Here me out: The Democrats care about immigrants and minorities, women, and the LGBT. Republicans on the other hand, only care tradition and cutting taxes for the rich. This way the Democrats and their supporters can paint themselves as a superhero who's being beaten down by the Man and the only way for everyone to be happy is for the to vote D next election. I've never even tried mastodon, but it's certainly possible to create a decentralized forum/imageboard/whatever that still allows the instance peers to moderate their own discussion boards however they wish. So yeah, degenerates may make their own boards, but so can you, if that's a problem then there's no solution, that's just the downside of a decentralized platform, that anyone can host their instance. Maybe it could include some kind of rating system, peers could rate other peers or whatever and enough negative ratings would result in the instance peer being shadowbanned or whatever, but that would require careful design so that it could not be abused.
Every attempt to create a 4chan alternative/offshoot has failed because within 5 minutes of going live they are all flooded with cp.
