I took a look at Ask Reddit out of curiosity today. Years ago I'd browse it because sometimes the questions or answers would actually be somewhat interesting, or at least amusing. Now, basically all the questions are just "Americans, Trump just did X, how do you feel about this?" for basically every little thing he's done since being re-elected.

I've noticed that as well. I used to browse r/askreddit at work. Good time waster, especially when you get actual answers and not things that never happened (well, hopefully) or redditors attempting to be funny. But this obsession with every other post being about Trump or the state of the US is so worthless. Of course mods and jannies should all kill themselves, but they could at least put up a general sticky that either limits the amount of times "BLURMF bad what plebbit think?" and its variants are asked or collects all of the seething there. Why should people - and I do believe there are plenty of casuals/regulars on the subreddit also annoyed by this - have to dig through so much trash to get to some actual entertaining or semi-insightful questions?

It doesn't even matter if its a subreddit for a country outside of the USA and in a different language other than english, somehow all everyone talks about is Drumpf. Its such a dead fake site, even the fun of going there to laugh at the retards has diminished.

Why are there gross fat retards in a meme subreddit (r/196)? I recently remembered my reddit account password and went to see what has happened to the subreddits I liked to browse, I knew that r/196 was dogshit when I stopped semi regularly viewing the site, but I only thought it could get so bad seeing as its a meme subreddit, glad I left when I did in hindsight. Apparently the fatposting is because the mods were removing the fatposting, and the fats are posting more in retaliation.

Basically, the intention of the sub icon change was to replace an outdated one. The mods picked the worse possible one, and for the next 4 or so days the entire sub became trannies swarming it with bad memes and antagonizing anyone complaining. Many bans were made and it was made a rule that you aren't allowed to talk about the change anymore.

And yes, before you ask, the mod wo made this is also a tranny and was totally onboard.

This all happened 15 days ago but it's just funny to see how this all went down. Because everyone complaining got banned, there's a small handful that still aren't happy about it for various reasons but they got shot down by the TRA apologists

Even the worst, most politically charged boomer-memes on Facebook have a sort of coherency and through process to them. Even the most surreal zoomer-shit is considered funny for its particular components you can point to, like Facebook boomer shit. So what's the comedic worth of the trans flag by itself? If the idea is that the flag is funny because of what/who it represents, then it's just a sort of self-own isn't it? On a subconscious level, they don't even take themselves seriously.

These people make me more MATI than the average politician.

I used to go there because it was funny how stupid everyone was. Now it's so obviously fake and astroturfed that there's no fun in it. You can't mock an entity that isn't even human. It's like making fun of an enemy from Final Fantasy 4 for making bad tactical decisions. Of course the retarded robot is acting like a retarded robot. That's what it is.

Redditors aren't people any more. They're chat bots or, at the very most, one of 5000 sock puppets some Indian is being paid to operate for a dollar a day. And absolutely everyone knows it at this point.

The best I can hope for nowadays is the odd schizo being crazy in a way that isn't so overdone as to be even less interesting than simply acting like a normal person.

I'm pretty convinced that the purpose was just to purge the sub of wrongthink. Because there's no way to question it without coming off as "transphobic"
