I would be, as this is the sub that banned me for innocently using "troon" in a post way back when, didn't even occur to me that it's a no no word on plebbit it's been that long ago.
Unrelated to the above, at this point in time i feel that the only thing worthwhile to have ever come out of reddit is Mother Horse Eyes. Wish that dude had written a lot more, his world building was excellent.
So, essentially what has happened with r/PoliticalCompassMemes [hereafter mostly referred to as PCM] is about as transparent as it can possibly get if you used Reddit before it went full leftoid [it always leaned Libertarian and gradually began to lean leftoid but there were small corners such as TheDonald, CringeAnarchy, TumblrInAction, KotakuInAction, etc. where reasonable conversations with non-commies and non-14 year old philosophists could be had] and watched how they did it with other subs. Up until I'd say around November 2024 - January 2025, r/PCM was definitely taking on a lot of water but you could still have reasonable conversations, there were memes that were actually somewhat funny and high-effort, there were even a handful of halfway-reasonable shitlibs who would actually have a good faith discussion on the issues. However, since January 2025 at the very latest, it's been overrun and just like the other subs I mentioned above, there were tells as to who was behind it.
The Reddit leftoids who are unemployed and retarded enough to no-life the platform have a very specific playbook they always run:
1) Locate a subreddit that even remotely hosts or tolerates what troons, power jannies, etc. view as 'problematic' content or 'problematic' discussions
2) Try to get it banned by any means necessary, during the heyday of r/AgainstHateSubreddits, this included spamming the sub with CSAM [which they all already had lying around on their hard drives for SOME reason] in quantities that even a highly dedicated and numerous mod team could not sufficiently stop or enforce against. This worked on quite a few subs back in the day, but it seems like a less common tactic now, likely because a few of the big-time power jannies known for this ended up getting busted by the feds or ICAC for having CSAM in the first place. "Aimee" [troon] Challenor being one prime example. One tactic they use now is to essentially follow around any non-compromised moderators of a subreddit looking for wrongthink, they will then report said moderators and if enough mods get banned, either the sub will have no one to kick out the leftoid retards or the sub will be closed/banned for being unmoderated. As such most moderators of 'problematic' subs no longer shitpost on these accounts, they'll make alts for that and only moderate on their main. Another method [which most notably worked on r/TheDonald] would have been to post actionable threats, if you'll recall, TheDonald actually got banned for "threats against law enforcement", when I'd wager it was one of the most pro-police subs on the platform at the time and Redditors absolutely LOVE going on about throwing bricks at the cops and never have action taken against them for it.
3) If that doesn't work, they'll infiltrate and compromise the mod team and very slowly change the sub's culture from within. They're actually pretty slick about this one - you usually won't notice until it's too late and leftoid jannies outnumber the originals, around this time 'new rules' will start to appear and you'll notice the automoderator becoming EXTREMELY overzealous in terms of posts which are allowed through the filter.
4) If the sub in question is large and popular enough that points 2 and 3 above do not make a dent in it [r/PCM being a prime example], they'll simply organize gayops on Discord when the prior tactics do not work. You can always tell when this starts because all of a sudden the place is absolutely crawling with brand new accounts or old accounts you've never seen before, the latter usually having very high comment karma for goodthink, leftoids who have been dragged over from one of the numerous [and always shitlib/commie] 'circlejerk' subreddits. This is coordinated via Discord and DMs most usually, it sort of is like a MMORPG 'clan' except somehow sweatier and consisting purely of people who absolutely no-life the platform. I recall one particular leftoid poster on r/PCM who was very prolific, I looked at his profile and this account had posted multiple comments every hour for the last 100 hours, which is obviously inorganic and probably a bot [or someone who does meth I suppose to go that long without sleeping, wouldn't be surprised.]
No matter which tactic is used, the rejoinder to anyone complaining about the VERY OBVIOUS shift is going to invariably be: "lol what are you talking about this place is still a right-wing circlejerk???", "bro take your pills schizoid touch grass this place has always been this way", or simply the typical cocky Redditoid 'clap-backs' they all use. In r/PCM's case, points 3 and 4 are particularly abundant and obvious. It is still, of course, maintained that the sub is a 'right-wing circlejerk' even when the entire front page is memes exclusively shitting on Donald Trump, all heavily updooted [where before they would not have been at all] and any memes shitting on leftoids will be beset with: "LOL YOU'RE JUST TRYING TO DISTRACT FROM THE EPSTEIN FILES BRO YOU VOTED FOR A PEDO BRO"
In r/PCM's case, it is also abundantly clear since users are expected to set a flair regarding their political views, most of the leftoid posters will of course flair as anything except for left, yet still continue spilling out the most shitlib takes you've ever seen despite being a 'centrist' or a 'lib-center', none of whom engage in any sort of good faith discourse. In any case, the proliferation of the ten to fifteen phrases Redditoids like to use is a definite sign that shit is going downhill, and we're all quite familiar with them by now I suppose.
"yikes"
"it's called being a decent/good/kind human being"
"as a [blank qualifier]"
"wow, it's almost like..."
"it's not my job to educate you"
"educate yourself"
"[linking to shitlib rags as a 'source' as if that means fucking anything or has any weight at this point]"
So on and so forth. You'll also notice a lot of zoomer internet parlance being thrown in because it seems as though most leftoids willing to no-life the platform are teenagers, such as claiming someone is 'crashing out'. Some of these phrases are almost permanently ingrained in the Redditoid psyche, some of them seem to be updated on a semi-regular basis, like a firmware update rolling out overnight. The current flavor is "due process" it seems. Doubtlessly a lot of this activity is bot activity, as that website is ABSOLUTELY crawling with fake engagement and bots, likely more so than any other platform I can think of off the top of my head. Unfortunately though, some of these people are absolutely real. You'll also notice [and this is the case on PCM as well] that the vast majority of leftoid memes aren't amusing or entertaining at all and that many of them are just poorly written walls of text because leftoids on Reddit absolutely cannot resist the urge to post navel-gazing, word salad slop. In short, when you notice that snappy and amusing memes vanish and are replaced by word-salad gobbledy-gook, the leftoids have come to town. Reddit is invariably the land of the midwit with an ego the size of Texas and a very hard-held belief that they are geniuses. They all sound like clones of one another after a while.
At one time, r/PoliticalCompassMemes was like the one bright spot on that platform still remaining. It wasn't a shitlib/Bolshevik circlejerk like the rest of that hellsite is, there was a pretty good mix and an even distribution of viewpoints, the memes were solid and amusing and sometimes even poignant, good discourse could be had. Even a good portion of the leftoids there could have a meaningful and reasonable dialogue and articulate their viewpoints and debate without calling their opponent an incel or a 'fascist'. Now it is pretty much yet another leftoid circlejerk. When confronted about this
obvious shift, they'll either claim that 'it's always been this way bro', 'well bro Trump HAS been doing a lot of stupid shit frfr' or even 'yeah right what are you smoking bruh this place is still a Nazi circlejerk bruh' despite the fact that the front page for days has been nothing but whining about Trump. All of this bullshit about Epstein [reminder: leftoids either had no fucking idea about the Epstein case or dismissed it as an anti-Semitic canard before 2025] has made it abundantly clear which direction the wind is blowing. Up until some libshit rag printed a picture of Trump and Epstein hanging out in 2006, leftoids didn't give a single fuck about Epstein, suddenly now on PCM it's the only topic worth talking about and if you post/comment anything unrelated to it, you're 'JUST TRYING TO DISTRACT FROM DRUMPF BEING A LITERAL PEDO'. I'd give it maybe six months before the mod team is totally compromised with leftoids if it isn't already at the time of writing. After which, it will just be r/politics that allows image posts, full of the shittiest 'memes' you can imagine.
The funniest part about all of this is that leftoids put
this much fucking energy into 'conquering' any rightoid space they can, meanwhile their political capital in meatspace is rapidly shrinking in size. They likely find it to be a comfort that they can co-opt formerly good spaces to pump out more leftoid shit, but all it does is further insulate them into their echochamber and make them believe that their viewpoints and 'philosophy' are more common than they really are in the real world. This is why they keep losing, this is why they were absolutely
STUNNED that Trump won the 2024 Presidential Election, they all genuinely convinced themselves that it was impossible. Because they never venture outside of their hugboxes, any platform or board that isn't outright a leftoid hugbox is quickly subverted and turned into one. Really, in a way they're fucking themselves over big time with this. They spend pretty much all of their time ass-patting each other and convincing each other that the revolution has been won, meanwhile they're taking hit after hit in reality. When the pendulum really swings back [and it already is, the signs are everywhere] they'll be totally fucking gobsmacked by it. "B-b-but Reddit said we were winning! How can this be?!" They have no fucking idea what is coming, no fucking idea what Joe Sixpack or Bob Normie on the street actually thinks of their nonsense. Because they only really exist on Reddit, they think that their world view is ubiquitous, which is why they genuinely thought Kamala fucking Harris was a great candidate and also why they were all so fucking surprised after watching the debate, they surrounded themselves with yes-men who all proclaimed in chorus that Joe Biden was still sharp as a tack. They had no idea before watching the debate that the man's brain was legitimately rotting from the inside out.
Truthfully, this is why there are no real moderates or centrists left: Redditoids basically exist on another fucking planet in just about every meaningful aspect, and they seem to like it that way.
