Nextdoor makes me scared of my neighbors​


I commented in a discussion about pets last week on the local Nextdoor. I don't go on there that much, so I'd pretty much forgotten about it. So, this morning, I have two messages from this older white woman, one sent after 11pm last night, and one sent around 7am this morning. I don't know her, but I've seen her posts before. She's one of those self-righteous busybodies constantly policing everyone and posting about every time someone has walked too close to her in public. (Her latest big thing is about people riding too fast on bicycles.) She thought I was rude to her in my comment, and she started writing about how her husband is an attorney (an obvious veiled threat to intimidate) and how I shouldn't be "bullying" women online. It ended with this strange comment about how they'd "like to meet me." WTF? I don't know her, and I certainly don't want to meet her. Since I hadn't responded by 7am, she let loose with a second, more angry one about how I probably hated women, talking about how many friends she had, what a community leader she is, how many comments she got on Nextdoor, etc...

Uh, yeah, lady. I am now backing slowly away.

I thought of replying and pointing out how crazy she sounded, but that's just what people like this want, so I just deleted the conversation and muted her. But, damn, there are some insane people on Nextdoor.

The Nextdoor app made me hate my neighbors​


I’ve lived in my neighborhood for over 20 years. I love my house, yard and the area. But the Nextdoor app made me really, really, really have a deep hatred for my neighbors. I tried to be friendly early on when I moved here,but realized there was a big clique that I didn’t fit into, so I kept to myself. Then I started looking at Nextdoor. God, are these people ignorant.

After several years, Nextdoor has made me hate all my neighbors and not want to be a part of the community.​


I'm on a moderation team but even outside of that all I feel is contempt for these insane people because the only ones posting are Facebook uncles, trolls, and Karens. If Nextdoor is serious about being a net good for neighborhoods they need to ban repeat offenders, and they don't as I've policing the same bad actors FOR YEARS NOW. You can't build connected neighborhoods when you let crazy run amok.

We're not even in some small town with cult politics, we're a huge suburb in Southern California. As a moderator, the only thing that feels like the right thing to do, to achieve net good, is trying to get the neighborhood to deactivate their accounts. I hate this site.

Nextdoor is a Toxic Hellhole​


A few years back when Nextdoor expanded the reach of posts past our ruralish neighborhoods and included the whole county, i decided I had enough. it was getting pretty bad as people were starting to speak negatively and I noticed a few unhinged posts I wondered how I was actually reading them. I have been living blissfully ignorant as I had deleted my account. Not long ago, I thought our dog had wandered off the property so I reactivated my ND account. So for the last month or so I've had an active account and so get emails into the social folder of my gmail account. Holy hell. What a Toxic Cesspool it has become! It is the absolute Worst of Human Interaction. My mouth gapes at the words I read. I cannot believe anyone can find this useful!

NextDoor app will get people Hurt​


Unfortunately, I just cannot get with the principles of the NextDoor app or at least the people on it. I had my posts reported for raising concerns about how some of the members are talking about literally shooting and killing young boys just by knocking on their doors because they don’t want solicitation.

I was even harassed by an individual and I reported him only for it to come back that he did not break the guidelines. But, my post calling out people who are talking about killing a young boy broke the guidelines?

This app is extremely dangerous and no one is monitoring it. The app creator leaves it up to neighbors to be the moderators, and that is extremely dangerous considering they overlook the discussion of violence against a human being, and shame those who are trying to protect a human life. It makes you think what is actually the purpose of this app? I strongly believe that this app or at least the people who use it are going to eventually get a young person killed.

Anyone else really creeped out by Nextdoor?​


I’m part of the Hancock Park community on nextdoor, and I don’t know what the heck I was expecting when I joined, but it seems like all people do is post pictures of people of color walking around the neighborhood, minding their own business, as if this is cause for some sort of outrage. The comments all seem to validate the racism as well and it’s kind of hard to accept that my literal neighbors have this extreme bias.

I feel like one day I’m going to step outside of my home and be sacrificed in some sort of Get Out esque ritual. Is it like this in other neighborhoods too or does any type of useful discussion occur...

Nextdoor is not a safe neighborhood platform!​


In my neighborhood it's the maga republicans white grievance mob; who attacks anyone and everyone who doesn't agree with their generalized narraratives. If you disagree or asked for nuance you find yourself kicked off for the most insane reason. I was kicked off because I wasn't using my real name, which was blantly false. Then they had the audacity to send me an invitation to join.

Not really sure why I keep going on Nextdoor​


I went on NextDoor asking neighbors if I could borrow an air compressor or an electric blower of some kind to clean out my computer. Just got mainly sarcastic remarks from people, people saying just use canned air, etc. It's like "oh really?! I didn't even think of using canned air!" /sneed Normally I would ask someone on the Buy Nothing Facebook group but I can't anymore. I got kicked out for some inexplicable reason and the admin blocked me so I can't talk to her about it. Basically being called stupid for even posting a question on NextDoor. I am not sure if people understand that you can't just plug in anything and blow it on computer parts. I had people telling me to use a hair dryer on the cold setting. People were sarcastically telling me to go up to a random gardener and use his leaf blower on my computer. I don't know just kind of tired of people mocking me on there.

You know what I find really funny is all the useless fat sacks of shit dancing on Charlie Kirk's grave would DEFINITELY all be signed up for hard labor to death in the ussr for being degenerate fat useless eaters. That's the part that always gets me, is these dumb fucks don't understand that in true communism they're all fucking worthless either through not wanting to work or "muh disabilities" sorry bud, but if you got "chronic pain" or use a wheelchair or have a joint disorder "from each according to their ability, to each according to their need" no longer applies. You're using much more than you're making, which means you're only good as fertilizer to the system, to grow food for everyone who actually pulls their weight. You don't get to sit sucking up 5,000 calories a day cranking it to anime tranny porn while everyone else breaks their backs working manual labor.

This is as real as it gets.

Yes, America's justice system is fucked, it favors the wealthy, and I think it's fair to say that regardless of circumstances, most people going through it do not have a good time.

That being said, outside of EU consumer protection laws, I can't fathom anybody ever thinking "Oh man, if only our courts were more like X country".
Half the court systems in the world literally run off extortion by the court itself, and will throw someone in a literal hell hole for years over bumping into an ATM.

At this point, it doesn't matter what the government does or doesn't release. A million schizos have developed this idea that there's this magical Epstein Document that will have a list of bad guys (coincidentally, only consisting of their personal political opponents), and that releasing it will magically see their side win eternally. The actual contents of the files are irrelevant at this point.

Either that, or with how often I'm seeing this come from lolbert and lefty types, they're just mad the government won't release the pictures of the underage girls. Honestly, I could see it being a solid 50-50 between the two.

Considering being friends with Epstein just got a UK politician fired it does matter. The UK's ambassador with the USA is a pretty big role to be fired from for KNOWN links to Epstein. If a list did come out or at least a reasonable list of people who visited or were chummy with him it could destroy entire political parties.

the main issue is that the dude supported Epstein during his trial for sex offenses. It was not just academic who had no idea or someone who met him during the 90s and stopped contacting him afterwards. He wrote emails defending him. It was the same with Prince Andrews, he got accused of sleeping with an underage girl and there were pics. It wasn't just s baseless accusation without evidence.

To PL/sperg slightly, I have friends who lived in both the post-WW2 East German and Cambodian Khmer Rouge governments, and if you were not able to go to the fields to help plant and harvest food? You were shot dead as you were not contributing to the "common good". At least the East German I know was given the option of starving to death, and the elderly were given a pass, but the Cambodian had to be hidden from the troops when their hand was injured and were unable to help with the rice harvest. The Cambodian was only 7 years old.

But again, these morons will insist “they weren’t doing communism correctly!”

The people who are strictly against communism would realistically manage off better in a communist society than the people actually advocating for it because we actually take pride and find value in fitness and hard work. Isn't it ironic.

If I could I would have killed every redditor except for ones that escaped the hellhole early enough before it turned into shit (or was it always shit? I got no idea)
