From the impression I've gotten from the posts is that mods could still see what was removed in their subreddits.

That boy is presenting the symptoms of a chemical addiction, to his ipad. I believe it, because everywhere I see people bring up "ipad kids", I also see people defending it, and insisting that it's all just hysteria, "the same as blaming TV and videogames". Completely oblivious to the fact that so many of them are mental wrecks in part because of TV and videogame overuse. Adults weren't wrong, they didn't even know how bad it would get. It was just mitigated for the first 40-50 years by most households having only one screen, and mush head compatible content wasn't on 24/7.

I think it's fairly clear that the people who grew up watching regular ass cable TV and playing vidya turned out a lot less braindead than the ones raised on tablets.

No, they don't teach that sort of thing at schools anymore. The social media age killed most of that attitude off so feds and advertisers can stalk everyone easier. It's the sort of thing people have to learn on their own or from holdout Internet communities.

Likewise, chuds have figured out how to skirt under the radar because they have to. The Right and chunks of the Centre have all had a long time to get used to the idea that we need to moderate our speech and political opinions to be palatable to the Left or be screamed down - or worse. The Left on the other hand has never needed to self-censor. No matter how deranged, their yes men have always been willing to turn a blind eye, so they never learned why they should ever need to think if they really shouldn't post some violent screed never mind how to go about actually disguising it.

With no consequences for the radicals, and an implicit incentive to bare all constantly, you end up with places like modern Reddit. Where violent and extremist rhetoric has become so normalised within Leftist circles that they're no longer capable of recognising just how much of their talking points are rooted in violent and extremist logic. Violent outcomes like Charlie Kirk are only to be expected when you combine ideas like "words are violence" and "our political opponents are all Nazis and Fascists" but they have a complete mental disconnect between how they view their dogma vs how it works in reality, so they gravedance over it and project motives and DARVO anyone that tells them this is their fault.

No, not at all. I remember very clearly when I was in middle school they had two old women who were councilors or something come into our class and try to explain how not to get groomed online. It was painfully obvious neither really knew what the internet was and they were going off a script written by someone who might have had an idea, but nothing more. After that it was mostly anti-bullying and one lesson where they said "What do you guys think truckers look like? Well if you said fat and country then that's a stereotype and you're stupid."
Before my kids ever get the internet they are learning about all my favorite lolcows and what happens when you act like a retard on the internet

They like seeing bad guys that are unambiguously bad, but it has to be presented a particular way and by the right person. Voldemort was cool for them because Rowling used to be kosher until she stepped on the tranny land mine. They only hate him now because they hate Rowling. Before that, Voldemort was a nice analogue for anyone in real life they didn’t like. If you recall, there were plenty of comparisons made between Donald Trump and Voldemort, and Republicans and Death Eaters back in 2017.
