Actually before snark Reddits took off, it was mostly private Facebook groups doing the same shit. Livejournal was used for this type of shit before Facebook groups. Screenshots and mean comments over stupid shit lol.


While I know there are women who join and use the farms, most women tend to be scared of places like lolcow and here because it's more unfiltered and users will make fun of you too.

Whereas Reddit mods and jannies always kowtow to people that cry about being downvoted, have their views questioned/not agreed with, report other comments enough.


Overall I think "snark" is just a socially acceptable code word for making fun of/talking shit about people.

Users here are "evil and doxxxx" because we're honest about the people we're talking about and don't delete things when people fuck up.

snark Reddits are seen as "valid commentary" or use the excuse that things posted "shouldn't take them seriously" even though they do worse (the h3h3 snark legal fall out is coming to mind). But at least they're not racist and homophobic like KF so they're ethical, you see :smug:

Yeah all good points.

I meant astroturfing as in loads of subreddit becoming political I think because the PR companies see reddit as a broader base where they can drum up support. Especially with mod teams on their side ignoring heavily botted subs.
 
Kitchencels was really funny for those two or three screenshots that made its rounds on social media until everyone thought they were funny and started posting the same tired unbelievable shit. Depressionmeals is kitchencels but more likely to be real.

Agreed. It started off fairly funny then people just started posting obviously made up bullshit for le internet points or gooner related stuff and it's full of troons now. I swear about 1/3 of the posts are about porn addiction and it's super revealing.

Then there's the omnipresent "waaah waaah I'm a socially retarded freak and REFUSE to do anything about it waaah" posts with no punchline that litter the sub. Reminds me of when I used to get really bored and peaked in on what was going on in /r9k/ years ago on 4chan. People wallowing in their own shit.

I genuinely don't know if depressionmeals is supposed to be funny in a self-deprecating sort of way or not and I don't know if I'm fucked for thinking so because personally I can't help but laugh at any post I see on there. The morbidity and open-endedness of the message combined with literally the most random and innocent looking picture of food gets me every time.

I've enjoyed quite a few places that had a 4chan audience but with the tiny bit of soul that KF also harbor where you can have decent conversations. But the second a scorned woman shows up, it derails everything. And for some reason they make up half the jannies.

I can see why women get addicted to breeding. It's a confirmation of womanhood. If you could stay back with a gun as your friends flee more than once, men would get addicted to that as well. Society really did a trick on itself when the bare minimum act of becoming pregnant, something that requires neither skill, smarts or success, became admirable and worth dying to protect, they really put women on a pedestal men need to claw their way up with decades of struggling.
