reddit General

If you feel threatened by it maybe you were a shit artist from the start.
You can map the intensity of AI art seethe on a Dunning-Kruger graph. People who can't into art are impressed that the computer draws for them. Gifted professionals are confident in their skillset and thus don't care, and the somewhat less gifted but still solid people realize it can streamline certain parts of the process. It's the properly middling who never got past flavor of the month moe art, sparkledog furry shit, or beanmouth/vitiligo/pronoun OC sheets that bang their fists and have turbocharged nigger moments every time AI art is brought up.
the insufferable apprentice of the boomer generation. actual scum
They manage to avoid blame because everyone including their parents forgot about them. The only reason millennials get more blame was because they were getting into the workforce as people noticed the Great Enshittening.
I thought being "neurodivergent" was one of the few ways to redeem yourself of the mortal sin of being white with these "people".
They don't like dealing with actual spergs. Socially awkward guys who gatekeep their interests, care about consistency, argue about small details, and don't conform to their latest trends draw their ire like little else. They're at heart theater kid hanger-ons, not confident enough to get on a stage or smart enough to hack it with nerds.

My favorite thing about reddit is how it shows that the majority of (especially young) people have little shame, no opsec and barely put any thought into how much information you can gather about them just based on their posting history.

Example:
A guy post a retarded pencil drawing on r/pokemon on lined school paper of a Pikachu. You immediately clock him as autistic and check out his profile. Might be funny.

His post history consists of him ranting about his never fulfilled desire to fuck the characters from cars, lamenting the size of his dick on a smalldickhelp subreddit, while also posting pictures of his micro on some small dick humilation reddit. He also posts on femboy / furry subreddits.
In between few boring memes about some other spergy videogames, some posts on the subreddit of his city, depressionposting. He also posts on r/teenagers which makes this entire ordeal even more questionable.

You just got more information than you would ever want about this Pikachu scribbling spastic. I don't know but this phenomenon fascinates me. Can't get that on any other website.

That's not true lmao. I've seen people on here reeeeeeeee about the private profile feature and how it's oppressive that they can't dox and harass someone for disagreeing with their retarded internet opinions.

You find these self important faggots in every online community.
Having a private profile where no one can leave mean comments about you on Kiwifarms a website dedicated to bullying retards is 100% pussy shit and deserves to be mocked.

Is it bad that Reddit is the site I want to get investigated the most? But man are most Redditors retarded.
Like a federal investigation? I don't think that's bad at all. I've never seen more threats of violence literally anywhere online then Reddit and that includes the original 8chan when it still existed. I remember when Roe v Wade got overturned people were literally posting judges addresses on that one tranny sub with the numbers as a name.

Yeah, a federal investigation, because if I remember correctly wasn't there a problem of people spamming CP to get subreddits taken down? I think Reddit might have more of that on it's site than even we know.

Redditor sees gold Krugerrands in an 80s movie (back when the only gold bullion coins available were South African Krugerrands, but also they were banned in the US due to Apartheid, so 80s movie badguys always had some), develops a fascination with Krugerrands in general, buys some silver ones, and wonders if anyone else is fascinated by Krugerrands. Most other Redditors in this sub are down, but one Redditor, in Redditor nature, finds coins from Apartheid South Africa to be distastefully Nazi-adjacent. When challenged on the selective outrage, said Redditor gives a rambling list of contingencies, as if anyone actually cares.

Now I want Jefferson Davis coins showing blacks hanging from trees. God how badass would that be?

Also, did that art guy delete his posts or just hide them?

So thanks, Porn-addicted Liberal McDonald's Worker Jimmy Henderson, 17, from OK, Owasso, 1643 Pensyl. Drive; Pewdiepie and Cars fanatic.

"Okay son. Never tell anyone your name, age or address. Find an alias and only ever use that".
>5 years later
"Uhh why shouldn't my twitch name be firstname.lastname? How are they gonna be able to find me on facebook and IG then???". I swear even strippers had the smarts to pick an alias.

This guy deleting his entire reddit post history is his equivalent of a two-decade career getting tanked by a scandal, just a hundred times more pathetic. The peak of what he achieved in life was being a powermod on a social media platform, and it all evaporated after something trivial and mundane turned into a janny crashout. If you guys ever feel doubt, insecurity, or the need to self-deprecate, just remember that you're not as pathetic as this species of retard.

@Necrosan @Rudy Coleman

This is something I stumbled across a bit ago that really tells you what you need to know about how social media/a.i/LLM's ( not hating just what it can do ) can really do in the whole nurture vs nature argument. Also funny that this is the same Dr. that analyzed PirateSoftware when he was the zenith of the internet for 5 minutes. This is someone that in the opening portion of the video even says what we were all thinking. We would almost assume that the guy is weak minded/pre-disposed/loser/pathetic but in reality this is not the case. For the sake of conversation this guy is just your average person in a situation that is highly geared against him when it comes to what it does to the mind. I myself will admit that I just concluded that this was some incel loser that just wanted to be told what he needed to hear but their is a really compelling case here that an LLM ( by extension social media ) causes what we see today.

Reading KF for a while really helps me appreciate something I absolutely fucking hate about all social media perhaps especially including reddit: the link rot is absolutely hideous.

Even if the URLs still technically exist, the proliferation of sitewide drama and individuals choosing to delete all their shit leads to a situation where it seems like more often than not, any post older than 5 years has a greater-than-50% chance of being dead or deleted. This is true on Twitter and Discord as well, and it's why in spite of whatever mechanical conveniences they have, they're absolutely dogshit for preserving the existence of anything meaningful.

That's an acceptable loss to the people behind these platforms, though, as the goal of social media is to be constantly engaging. They do not give a single fuck about any post older than maybe a week at a stretch, and it means that it's basically impossible to find anything that well-encapsulates a given place and time the way a thread full of people making at-the-time-remarks does. Even 4chan had that problem until archives started popping up, but that's one of the reasons I like KF.

People started seeing the right to be forgotten as a virtue, but no pro is without con, and we seem to now live in a culture where archival and preservation are not considered the high objective goods that they used to be. Redditors criticize Nintendo about this but then turn around and swear they should be able to reserve the right to delete anything they want whenever they want. There IS a hypocrisy in that, no matter how much they want not to think so.

but but but muh Lost Media! i heckin love when my heckin ol’ media gets lost and you need to search for it!

No, I absolutely despise it. Sometimes media isn’t even lost but just piled under layer upon layer of technological bullshit that you just cannot find it anymore. People give more of a shit to “archive” some retarded 70’s show that no one watched rather than some historically significant like films, books or music, especially when it’s something recent, because “everything you post online will remain online”, which has never been true. If it wasn’t for the efforts of actual autistic nobodies, some media would be actually lost to the sands of time, like Metropolis. But since it’s “archived” (half the fucking movie’s missing), no one cares. Dubs in my native language, practically gone. Whenever I find a golden nugget of rare dubs, the immediate thing I do is rip and archive asap.

It only matters once it’s gone, but then you’ll have nothing.

I legitimately am surprised neither the Orange Nigga nor anyone in his inner circle has set their sights on reddit yet.
Reddit has comparatively very few users compared to YouTube, Facebook, or even old Twitter. Then you factor in how many of these users are bots, and there may truly be only about as many actual humans on reddit as KF, many of which are international, and then...🤷‍♂️ who gives a shit? It's the new Tumblr
