reddit General

For fuck's sake. The cancer of social media has metastisized to the point where even moderated, single-topic communities are subject to discussions about completely irrelevant events. All topics must be discussed at all times, everywhere. (Unless they're deemed hate speech, of course.)
Even my favourite instagram and reddit whores had some kind of BLM message. I can't fap to that shit. Show me them titties and fuck off.

What's so insane is how most of them still miss the point. Those opposed to the ban make statements like:

"I understand banning X, but why my beloved Y?"
"Censorship is fine, but not when applied to me!"
"Good job on destroying what we all agree is evil, but I'm not evil, so why was I banned?"
"If you're going to ban my beloved A, why are B and C still up?".

They're still operating within a framework where censorship of speech is normal and expected. It's sad to see people who can't even conceive of the simplicity of allowing free speech. It's all arguments over individual choices and the incoherence of the policy, rather than rejecting the paradigm completely.

It's ridiculous.

You get what you fucking deserve.

my ancestors don't define who I am today, and I suggest black people think the same, stop acting like the victim you didn't experience true racism.
George Floyd was a notorious criminal who robbed a pregnant woman with a gun before, police had every right to use force to hold him down.

Technically not a janny, because he doesn't, in fact, do it for free. That's the fucking CEO/co-founder's account ROFL.

As a reminder, he looks like this:

He also previously edited user comments without their knowledge because they were criticizing him.

Oh shit didn't even know its the big cheeze, I though it was some janny. This is even funnier!

How long until Reddit becomes a porn site with a few heavily moderated drumpf bad politics and wholesome memes subs?

r/ItsAFetish has gone private :semperfidelis:

The groups that got GC banned haven’t realised that they actually needed GC and other radical feminism aligned subreddits for “trans women are women” legitimacy. Not every radfem aligned subreddit was women only or even women majority. Reddit already has a huge porn base and now every non-porn subreddit will now be strictly TWAW. The small female base it had will be further reduced when the radfems leave and soon the only real women users left will be those posting on GoneWild (adding to the straight male oriented porn base) or handmaidens that gush over terrible trans make-up looks on MakeupAddiction (adding to trans visibility). There will be no female centred feminism or female only biology discussions so the remaining women will be barely visible behind trans inclusive language (e.g. “people who menstruate” etc.)

What this means is that it will be painfully obvious how much the two groups (men fetishising women and transwomen) crosses over when that’s all that is left. It’s like they want to prove r/itsafetish was right after all. Well done.

To be honest, I think this is the reason the problem has gone on as long as it has.

No matter how much people cry about censorship on these giant corporate websites, many of them are hesitant to actually leave because leaving would reduce their audience. They don't want to just talk with other people or share their opinion, they want to preach to a crowd and get lots of asspats, and the draw of these big corporate sites is that just about everyone else is using them. Every so often a wave of bans results in a small exodus to somewhere else, but that exodus never lasts for long because there's not enough of an audience to hold most users' interest.

Having a return to small forums would ultimately solve a lot of issues, but people would have to be broken of their addiction to ego-stroking first.

The closest thing to a "protest" these people could make that would have any actual effect is to disconnect from these sites entirely.

It will never happen, just like the NFL is never going to go bankrupt. It would take an ounce of willpower to do it, and they won't.

I'm pretty sure admins have access to free stickers to shape discussion.
There was a post on /pol/ (I think. Correct me if I'm wrong if someone here knows what I'm talking about) where a guy said he had a friend who worked for reddit, and that reddit employees get infinite awards on their personal accounts and that they have a certain number of "coins" they can give to friends and family to encourage people to give awards and stimulate more organic award purchasing in turn.
