Truth. /r/badphilosophy is the worst of the /r/bad* subs I've ever seen. In fact, it's where the delightfully insufferable "yourlycntbsrs" or whatever his name was initially came from. He and his cohorts loved to proclaim their obvious superiority, claiming to have advanced degrees in philosophy but practically always resorting to basic sophistry in any kind of "debate" (the posts they "highlighted" would often attract the original poster into the lion's den to defend themselves).

The air of smugness wafting from that sub is legendary. That South Park episode where all the Californians fart into wine glasses so they can huff their own concentrated farts? This sub is a live embodiment of that.

@Ruin stole my thunder (GG, lad) on the sense-of-humor angle, but there's also the fact that they don't want "equality." They want dominance. Putting up a Chippendales calendar would (legitimately) put a woman on equal footing with most men, even in a so-called "bro culture" environment. It'd show a sense of humor, willingness (and ability) to adapt as well as stand toe-to-toe with the men without immediately crumbling under the lightest amount of teasing. It earns respect fast, and brings her into the fold on equal footing.

These kinds of women don't want that. They'd rather dominate and control the men, destroy their existing work environment and remake it into something much more dull and arguably less effective. It's the standard SJW play -- tear things down instead of building things up.

Did the first girl ever try to speak up before someone else spoke up for her or did she just keep getting interrupted and then didn't say anything because she didn't want to look "bossy" or something. Because her telling of it makes her come across as very meek to me. Either her ex-coworker was an asshole or she was too meek to tell him she wants to say something. Could be either one honestly. Also the second girl is the worst. It's one thing not being on the same wavelength as your teammates because you don't mesh well and have different forms of humor. Jews move from Europe to Israel. Almost no one goes the other way, especially as Muslim populations have gone up in certain countries in Europe (mainly France). Pretty much everyone from eastern Europe has already moved to Israel decades ago, with only a few hundred thousand left in the west.

I also think people here are exaggerating how big the Israel-Palestine skirmishes are. The entire Arab-Israeli war since 1948 has a death toll of about 100,000, 1/5 of the Syrian civil war alone, which claimed about 500,000 lives. The deadliest middle eastern conflicts (involving Iraq, Syria, or Yemen) are fairly unrelated to Israel, except indirectly. You can see this in how certain Muslim countries like Morocco and the UAE have cared increasingly less about the issue to the point where they now recognise Israel formally. The Saudi-Iran rivalry is a bigger, deadlier deal.

Not only do they make essays trying to explain how their wholesome chungus countries are super democratic and free, but will try and write new lore all the time to justify it. My favorite is the new British Lore where basically a bunch of cities revolt as independent communes for no reason, the army joins rebel cells, and all groups merge to be wholesome 100 syndies.

It doesn't help the amount of rabid Leftists on that sub.
