Reddit is so awful lmao. I watch sports right, so I have threads on Reddit for games that I go into and interact with people and react to the games live, and even THOSE FUCKING THREADS HAVE TRANNY JANNIES, the furthest thing any of these weird fucks would actually like or be into; it’s bizarre.
Fuck jannies.
As leaked here, and in response to the leaks, on top of getting nipped in the bud by an admin, Reddit jannies have now turned on each other, censoring, deleting, and banning their posts.
In the meantime, they toss around the idea of shutting down entire Reddit boards to finally sway the admin that told them to stop freaking out, comparing it a "march" since actual walking is too physically strenuous for a Reddit janny. They attack anyone who says this idea is stupid.
This all began when Reddit mods spammed an anti-anti-vax copypasta in every popular Reddit, including porn Reddits like "hypnosis porn" and "women bending over" (NSFW for both).
A Reddit admin stepped in and deleted the mods' hysteria, spurring the mods to call the admins "dictators" and "tyrants" because they won't let them censor and ban people who disagree with them on their spam messages.
This inspired the people over at rdrama to archive their entire Discord server. Despite being fully aware they are getting their chats leaked, they decide to openly discuss how they're going to try to remove any Reddit that they don't agree with, including conservative Reddits, as shared by The Stinky Skink.
And remember, everyone, Reddit jannies hate being called "jannies." They just disguise how it makes them feel bad by calling it "transphobic," which makes as much sense as it sounds. So please don't call them that.
Normies happened. Also the first generation of "participation trophy" children raised by helicopter parents came of age and started venturing out of their safety bubbles and, instead of adapting to the world, demanded the world provide them more safety bubbles.
The admins absolutely support these antics and agree with them completely. They don't always have the option of allowing these schemes to play out, though. Sometimes they're forced to stop them (very publicly) to avoid bigger problems.
There's two things that will typically force the admins to reign in their useful idiots. One is when they're about to go absurdly overboard with an action and/or their plans for it get leaked publicly (like it did here). If jannies scheme something like this and manage to keep it quiet, the admins will still pre-emptively stop it if they're targeting too many subs at once or being otherwise excessively aggressive.
The admins don't want users to form an impression that there are coordinated large-scale efforts behind the scenes to manipulate the site "unfairly." Reddit owes much of its (undeserved) popularity to the superficial image of fairness it projects, so the admins have to at least feign disapproval of widespread backdoor collusion. In situations like this one where the exact details actually leaked, the admins are forced to very publicly disavow and flex against it just to try to ensure users don't think the admins themselves were involved (if possible).
The second thing that'll cause this is one of reddit's funding sources clearing their throats and "suggesting" intervention because the "wrong" bad people are being targeted and that could cause the purse holder some problems. Sometimes it's better to allow a group of wrongthinkers to stay on the site where they mostly keep to themselves, as opposed to nuking their sub(s) and causing a stir that might draw unwanted attention to the group or the people attacking them.
Tumblr had mods? I thought that place was a kiddie pr0n haven, so if they had mods there, why would those mods have allowed ... oh. Ohhhhhhh. God dammit.
So what you're saying is, the beta-Jannies (mods) are saying the quiet part out loud, and doing a shit job of concealing the fact they want to implement the quiet part; while the alpha-Jannies (admins) need them to keep it under wraps?
So basically reddit moderators are being the MovieBob of Jannies?
They can't risk causing too much upset because deep down they know they're replaceable and if they can't rule over their internet kingdom of rats their lives will have no meaning at all.
Man, this entire event has been a bit redpilling for me. I knew reddit was bad, but I had no idea it was this bad. It strains credibility to call it a platform. It's more like a big magazine where the editors work reactively rather than proactively. Reddit makes Twitter look like Alex Jones screaming 1776 at the top of his lungs.
It's to the point that it honestly doesn't even make sense from a political influence point of view. Reddit doesn't come up for news or much of anything else in google results outside of hobbyist stuff. So when you've banned not only every conservative, but every centrist off your platform, anything you say is just preaching to the choir
It never ceases to amuse me how pants shittingly terrified These people are of the KiwiFarms. We are just humble archivists. If they were truly proud of their accomplishments they should be thrilled at being featured here.

People like this are why the internet sucks and is only going to get even worse. If you don’t like what discussion is being had, don’t participate or look at it. These are the same people that make sock accounts and put horrible shit on subreddits to get them banned. If their arguments and ideas weren’t complete dogshit, they wouldn’t need to ban any criticism.
I still think he took his sweet time in doing it, he closed off registrations only a few weeks into the troon DDoS after the byuu drama. Should have closed it right then and there.
But either way, yea it should definitely stay closed for a while now.
Those aren't the subs going dark, just the ones that posted the copypasta and pinned it. The list of subs going dark is much, much smaller. If you read the leaked logs most of the mods are shitting their pants and are unwilling to go dark out of fear of being removed by Reddit admins. This is as far as things are going to go.
The moderators of r/declineintocensorship banned all of the moderators of r/againsthatesubreddits. Instead of ignoring it, a moderator of againsthatesubreddits magnifies it. It's delightful to see them explain how this is not hypocrisy.
