It's one of the most retarded rules I've ever seen on a website. I know they used to threaten to shadow ban you if you voted on posts if you were linked to it via another subreddit. I don't know any other website that bans you just for using it as intended.
In all fairness, we basically have that rule here too. "Don't post links and tell people to go harass them."

Which should be how it works on Reddit too. But I guess some people take it (and I haven't bothered checking the actual wording) to mean that "get a load of THIS asshole" posts are the same thing. Which it's not.

I'm always curious how leftists know that "the right to bear arms shall not be infringed" was never intended to be applied to modern weapons but the founders cemented modern abortion rights in the 1800s using language that doesn't mention anything close to that idea.
2nd Amendment protects the right to own guns, period. Not muskets, not rifles, not pistols; but “arms”.

Meanwhile “abortion” is not mentioned in the constitution at all. Heck “doctors”, “patient”, “healthcare”, and so forth are not mentioned either. Thus the power falls not to the federal government, but to the states.

One 'laugh at people who say dumb shit' sub I monitor has been given a FINAL WARNING and now you flat out have to completely erase (not just blur, you still might make out the usernames) of the people you screenshot saying dumb shit and no linking to them either.

the rule here is about not wanting people to organize off site shenanigans (raids etc) on the forums and is aimed at individual users (which makes sense)
the brigading rule on reddit is about not wanting people to crosspost on different subreddits with controversial opinions, and it isn't just applied to individual users but instead they use it to close down entire subreddits

basically they use it as a pretext for collective punishment, applied selectively to subreddits that the mods and admins dislike

This thread has gotten more action from the gay reddit civil war than reddit's userbase has collectively seen for a year.

I've only ever seen them enforce their anti-brigading rule on subs they want to censor. Leftist and woke users constantly brigade other subreddits, it must be by the hundreds of thousands. And the Reddit mods look the other way.

Just take one look at r/ivermectin, the ENTIRE subreddit has been shit up with spam to be completely unreadable, with all legitimate posts having been downvoted to 0. Do the Reddit jannies care? Are they banning the brigaders? Fuck no. If they can't ban the sub, they want it to be ruined, it's the next best thing for the power jannies. They're biased, power hungry, bootlickers.

Fuck reddit. I never got my secret santa. Now i'm a member of the taliban. uwu aqua bar
I made that mistake once as well. ONCE. Never got mine, gave someone a $20 steam card.

Now, fuck these people. Never doing anything nice for anyone again lmao.

During lockdowns I got bored enough to check out reddit again.
Every time theres some sort of product featured in a post, the top rated comment is always "WhErE dO I gEt oNe!" And like 10 people linking to said product. Or just straight up showing off their new bong/knife/whatever complete with link of said product.
If there's a cute pic of a dog (oh sorry, pupper) there's some disney/globohomo themed dog toy taking up just as much space in the pic as the dog.

Reddit is nothing but a tool to keep the masses consooming. Change my mind.

Also the way china wants its people (and the world) to live, no wonder they shut down NNN (remember tencent owns part of Reddit) Anti lockdown? Get back in the pod, pleb.

Yep. Reddit these days is formed by the Goon infiltration and Chinese ownership.

Tenbux and Tencent working together.

This whole Texas abortion issue is great because it screws over lefties and righties. Lefties get less abortions so they will seethe and seethe. Righties will now have to deal with Tyrone and Cletus having more kids since they cant afford taking a trip across state lines to fix their mistakes.

Like a toddler who screamed and cried in the supermarket until it's mother caved and bought sweets, the jannies just learned that throwing a temper tantrum works.

This is going to happen every time they don't like something from now on, there's blood in the water.

One thing that I don't get is why have reddit admins picked now of all times to grow a spine and defy the mods? From what I understand reddit admins have usually gave in at every opportunity and given the mods whatever they want, and have had little-to-no issue banning wrongthink subs left and right the last few years. It seems like normally they would have banned it and be done with it.
Not even 12 hours and this post has already aged like milk. Reddit admins lived up to my expectations
