Actually, no. Most Zoomers that I've come across aren't really playing the power fantasy games. A lot of them are actually playing older games. Old school Halo, Fallout: New Vegas, Morrowind, Baldur's Gate 1&2, etc. There is a craze right now with Zoomers with retro and old school gaming. I think Zoomers are looking for games that have good gameplay, decent story, good world building, are cheap and writing that isn't written by a jaded millennial.

As a Zoomer, Halo was my childhood. Beat everything up to 5 on legendary, and 2 is my favorite overall. The games were just better, didn't last 9 million years yet still delivered a captivating story. Since I have a OG Xbox, and a 360, along with a One X, I've been playing older games these last few years, completed KOTOR, almost finished with Mechassualt, and have gotten into Bayonetta and Crimson Skies, and Dead or Alive 3 as a party game. All of these games were fully functional at launch, have fun gameplay, sex appeal, and actually focus on the damn game, not politics.

Well, one of them was a troon.

To be fair, the only major character I can think of that's mentioned to be a lesbian in dialogue in the game itself was the villain and some of her coven. Which is a lot of characters relative to the minimal cast, but I didn't care too much because I spent that mission choking all of them out, and used Far Reach to throw Delilah off of a cliff.

Granted when you look into the notes and journals you find out that pretty much every woman is into women. Emily has a love letter that never specifies her lover's sex (even though the name is basically the word woman but y instead of the o), but I think I remember someone from the studio said Emily was supposed to be bi which is why they didn't specify. Billy Lurk has a letter from a female ex. Hell, Aramis Stilton is also gay, though that was more implied than the others being outright stated. For how small the cast of major characters is, the percentage that are some flavor of LGBT is insane.

And that was nearly 10 years ago. Imagine how bad it would be today.

These people have not actually interacted with normal, working people at large. They write like how their peers speak, because that's all they know.

Agreed about the problem not necessarily being the idpol shit, but forced idpol almost always goes hand in hand with the garbage writing/world building, so it's still fairly useful, even as nothing more than a red herring. Still, I can't think of a single game that has been improved by the inclusion of leftoid nonsense but I can think of a lot that were made demonstrably worse.
