He's appealing his bail now, claiming he didn't know guns were in the vehicle.

Dean Smith, a graphic designer from the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania, reportedly told his lawyer he didn't know there were any guns in the truck. But the Port Authority police said he was sitting on a .45-caliber semi-automatic weapon when they approached him in the driver's seat of the truck.

Apparently these guys were vigilantes who were going to "extract" some girl from a drug den.

their conspicuous car they were going to do it in.

Remind me of the latest American Dad episode about hitting russian arms dealers with zebra-striped vans.

The police most likely saved these guys lives. I can't see even the dumbest drug lord not noticing that vehicle coming for them.

Late but, they are now claiming the police only stopped them because of their vehicle.

The gun-toting vigilantes from Pennsylvania who tried to take an arsenal into the Big Apple on Tuesday are being discriminated against because of their love for the Second Amendment — which is plastered all over their pick-up truck, their lawyers claimed on Wednesday.

“There was no doubt they got stopped because of what was on the vehicle,” said James Lisa, defense attorney for John Cramsey, of rural Zionsville, Pa.

No shit. The only way that truck could have been more of a cop magnet was if it had a $7000 speaker system in the trunk and some neon underglows.

They also are now attempting to cite a exemption in NYC's gun laws that allow provisions for transporting firearms from your home to a legitimate work environment where they are needed, such as security contractor, or a gun range. Despite living in Pennsylvania, and the gun range also being in Pennsylvania. And, of course, his gun range is apparently a shithole too, which reports of hazardous lead exposure because they can't handle ammo properly.

For example, during a sampling period on Nov. 13, OSHA said safety officers observing and instructing clients in the range area were exposed to continuous noise at 326 percent of the permissible daily noise exposure.

In addition, OSHA said, range safety officers were exposed on average to 0.69 milligrams of inorganic lead per cubic meter of air, which is almost 14 times the OSHA permissible exposure limit of 0.05 milligrams per cubic meter of air.

This is gun range 101 shit. Wear Ear Equipment, Don't let lead get everywhere. Make sure the ventilation system actually works. Have a place people can eat food that is sanitized from lead. So on and so on. If the gun range I occasionally go to was this mismanaged, I'd probably have considered going into the woods where the coyotes live a safer alternative.

Dude this guy sounds like a cow. First it's "I didn't know the guns were in the car" right into "They are profiling because we love our God given right to own guns".

They also found drugs in the car so these boys( and girl) are fucked from owning a gun in the future if I remember correctly.

One of the guys is a fucking graphic designer. In that truck... LOL.

I hope the impound lot charges him extra for emotional distress for whoever the poor officer is that has to see that eyesore every day.

The more I keep digging the funnier this gets. The Daily news is claiming to have photos of the guns he had "no idea" were in the vehicle.

Yeah I can see "accidentally" leaving that in the truck after a day out. Also love the garbage tactical knives, and the magazine with MERICA on it. Also I might be wrong, but isn't the knuckle knive just straight up illegal in both states to begin with?
