UN Referendum Successful - Liechtenstein To Shut Down Its Public Broadcasting - After so much bullshit coming from state channels in German-speaking areas, this is a breath of fresh air. Liechtenstein continues to be based

Another translation for the A&N audience by yours truly. This time from a very biased source [A] that I strongly disavow. Anyway,

Referendum successful

Liechtenstein must shut down its public broadcasting

In Liechtenstein, "Radio Liechtenstein" as the sole state channel is getting shut down. According to a government statement, a public referendum on the shutdown got 55.4 percent agreement.

The small political party "Demokraten pro Liechtenstein" argued in its initiative that the free-of-charge radio channel costs almost 4 million Francs [translator's note: ~4.2 million EUR / 4.6 million USD] of government funding. This corresponds to 70 percent of the total available media budget.

The government of Liechtenstein warned about the abolition of the public broadcaster in the country: An important and trustworthy source of information for shaping opinions gets lost. Also, it is doubtful whether a private broadcaster can be run in a financially viable way in a tiny state with roughly 40,000 inhabitants.

There was no knight in sweater armor Herr Rogersburgerhoff to save your funding this time, Radio Liechtenstein.

Wish we could get rid of Public Broadcasting here. "Public" my ass. It's the propaganda arm of the democratic party and everyone else has to pay for it. All they do is suck up pretax dollars from pot smoking bolshivik lesbians. Then PBS mixes it all in with their huge NEA grants, launders it in inner city methadone clinics, and pumps it right back out to pro abortion super PACs.

PBS should be as dead as Fred Rodgers.

Why though?
1. It's against the rules of A&N.
2. The quote button doesn't work in quote blocks.
3. It's against the rules of A&N.
4. Maybe "it visually privileges the comments over the article, >implying reading/skimming the article is optional".

for shaping opinions
Rest in piss.

Peter Boghossian did a centrist take series on the decline and ideological capture of NPR a few years back.

I enjoyed listening to center left types get redpilled as to how corrupt their cherished institutions are even if centrists still remain incredibly frustrating in the end with their constant "I'm not MAGA" disclaimers.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I adjusted the OP.
