stupidest post I've ever seen
"just because ISPs didn't immediately fuck us over means net neutrality was a nothingburger"
goddamn I hate dumb faggots like you. enjoy your premium internet pricing and selective bandwidth in the future, nigger. you deserve it.
Lol see what I mean? You fucking sped, the big corporations to hate wanted net neutrality.

Honestly? We got the entire push for getting rid of Section 230 because it was never really meant to protect free speech: it was shat out because at the time the large tech companies didn't have to be liable for not rolling out the censorbots (yet) or have to pay humans actual money to do the job instead. What it did for free speech was just an unexpected benefit, not actually its purpose.

If it had been truly meant to protect free speech, the Farms would be a lot safer from lawsuits and not having to spend as much & the large tech companies would be providing us with lots of free entertainment if they wanted to keep being censorship-happy because it'd about as sane as trying to juggle infinite running chainsaws... (Yes, the company lawyers would warn them. Their job is generally to be ignored by the cows in management and be their scapegoat, though...)

None of these powerful interests want to go back to "Main Street" or "small retail businesses".
Imagine a main street filled with little shops. 'How quaint!' you think to yourself, grasping the arm of your lovely girlfriend. As you walk past the shops, however, bemused expressions fill your faces. That's odd... each shop has the same name, "Amazon." You look with curiosity from shop to shop. They each have some vague theme, a butcher, a baker, a candlestick maker, but inside each shop they sell only little grey widgets. A drawing in the window of the baker's shop vaguely looks like a baguette, drawn by a person who has seemingly never seen one in real life. You walk into the butcher's shop to ask about some flank steak, but the confused man at the counter begins reading from a script about how his store will make you feel, how meat is about expressing yourself, and how it's not just a shop it's a lifestyle. You walk out of the shop in a panic, world swirling around you. As the boringpunk same-same melange of mass market facsimiles lurches around you, you see your girlfriend's face. She calls you a bigot for blacking out.

Twitter isn't the government. Fuck off with that. Don't like it, don't use it. Instead of destroying the internet just to get rid of a website.
That's what burns my ass about Trumptards defense of this retardation there was nothing stopping Trump and his braindead followers from going to Gab or Parler or any other shitty Right Wing Twitter clone if they really felt persecuted by Dorsey.

If AOC,Biden or any other Left Wing "devil SJW" had put this forward first these tards would have been screaming from the rafters.

maybe the big corporations like websites who didn't want the other big corporations like verizon to prioritize certain sites over others when it comes to bandwidth allowances.
reminder that ajit pai was a literal verizon lawyer before he was appointed as head of the fcc. also kill yourself.

I unironically believe that future historians studying the history of the internet will view the closure of sites like Kiwifarms as the end of an era in online communications. A sort of final nail in the coffin, cementing a new kind of internet over top the remains of what used to be considered normal conduct online.
Probably not.

Web sites themselves are an outmoded form of communication.

They started as digital brochures before turning into glorified forums, chat rooms and ATM machines. With panoptic surveillance capabilities.

We'll remember them the way we remember Penny Dreadfuls.

As opposed to the guys who want to make hate speech a felony?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but hasn't aggressive internet cenorship been happening while was Trump president? Why is Congress trying to rush through a law that limits free speech before Trump gets evicted on January 20th?
