KF, the only forum I use or slightly care about will be dead, but atleast some shitty music and video game forums will be around. You don’t see the upside to this, really? Let me lay it out for you, then. Forums have been dying for years and years. Big Tech has successfully consolidated online discussion into a few gigantic, monopolistic platforms, like Facebook, Reddit, YouTube comments and so forth. The traffic rankings do not lie.

As internet forums die off, finding community can be harder than ever
Before social networks took over the internet, message boards were perhaps the most essential way for people to come together online and talk about whatever was on their minds. Our discussion spaces have evolved dramatically, though -- message boards aren't as important as they used to be...www.engadget.com
Do you think it’s healthy for free speech for the vast majority of the web’s users to be siloed on just a few sites with top-down control? With shadowbanning, blacklisted topics, quarantined boards, and all this other draconian net nanny bullshit?
What if there was an alternative?
The salt in this thread is great, unironically
Everything is Unus Annus in reality. It'll be Unus Annus all over again. The clock is ticking (before it'll be signed)
Yeah even with AI filtering tools, unless they forced you to give your SSN to dissuade new accounts all this would do is cause people to attempt to find work arounds. I mean even alphabet right now has constant fuck ups with its auto flagging and "Algorithm" they use with YouTube so unless they somehow boosted it's learning within the past couple of months of coof use. While I agree that a full repeal with nothing to replace 230 would likely fuck this site over, I seriously doubt that's going to happen simply because this is objectively wrong.
97% of all corporate lawsuits are settled with no civil proceedings. This is because in the overwhelming majority of cases, it is far cheaper for companies to simply settle out of court rather than fighting lawsuits. Most of these lawsuits are for dumb shit, that the companies could have easily won if they went to court, but they chose not to. If the full repeal of section 230 does happen, and it does open up tech companies to large amounts of litigation, they will go out of business because they won't have a choice but to fight these lawsuits due to sheer volume. You'll see more lawsuits on sites like those than you will on sites like this not because of anything moderation or content related, but simply because every lawyer in the US will be filing lawsuits against them because they have a lot of shekels to hand out. Obviously, this is completely against the wills of the powers that be, Trump and associates included, so it is highly improbable that you'll actually see a full repeal, or really any repeal for that matter.
A nobody, just like you. Except you have the mindset that your post count means shit all. You might as well sign up on SA and join the circle jerk there with that mindset.
Help. I think I heard that word somewhere. Is it something that people do this time of year?Well. Christmas and New Years is coming up. Quit whining about how hard you got it and try to help old people and children.
You know who fears me?
If you're the type of person to browse this site you could always just take a look in the mirrorWow, this blows. Who will I make fun of retards on the internet with if this happens?
