Don't understand what Trump's logic is. Doesn't making twitter dot com legally responsible for everybody's posts make them more likely to ban "problematic" people? Wouldn't it make more sense to just change the language so that websites are only responsible for the posts if theyre actively moderating off an agenda

@Null Can you quote us figure of how much would it cost to operate website in Section 230 Absent situation ? Even Chan gets Ads, I think before closing you should try to see if we can indeed keep this online regardless, you would be surprised what people can do if they want to be defiant.
2 things. Josh can't keep a payment processor long enough to rely on our extra chromie cash. Even people who larp as Jews and handwrite lawsuits on fucking napkins can cause major issues to him with section 230 protection. The point is, he would need permanent and very smart legal council on retainer around the whole fucking US depending on where the suit is filed. IF the case gets a hearing, you go into 5 figures instantly. If the other side has a fart of credibility you go into 6 figures. No amount of jerking off about troons and retards who spree kill is gonna pay those bills.

Josh will just ghost us and go back to his roblox forum and stalk fat chicks he want to feed fuck.

EXACTLY. The retards saying that this will stop "globohomo" are retarded, this just gives private companies reason to completely strangle dissenting thought.

Trump's logic is "stop Twitter from letting people shoot mean tweets at me." Twitter won't nuke the orange man's account, but they'll throw enough bots at the moderating problem and lawyer their way through the legal wording so that Section 230 has little to no effect on operations.

Smaller websites and the people running them are fucked, though.

Now where am I going to go to be a huge piece of shit?

I’m a lady, I’m not allowed to do that on the rest of the internet! Except in facebook groups, and I can’t stand Karens.

I've probably invested near 8k (not including the 5k from this recent lawsuit) into rebuilding everything from the absolute state it was handed to me in so yea the timing is complete ass.

Makes me mad as hell to think all of that could just poof cause some orange nigger decided it would be funny.
Will you delete the version of the Trump article that praises him?

The Lich Queen will probably manage to outlive the Farms. All the ridicule from her thread will swirl into a massive hate vortex and extend her life by another century at least. How could you let this happen, Josh? Think what evil you've unleashed on the world.

As the 2010's went by everything I enjoyed was taken from me and destroyed. This is all I have left. This is the only place left on the web where it feels like you are talking to other sentient lifeforms. Every year that went by I knew could be the last. We have lost, one of the last shining lights in the dark will flicker and fade and we will all be alone for the rest of our miserable factory bound lives.

I think we all hope that someone living in Mongol will take the site over and run it but what are the chances? If Darksydephil can bring in 10k a month then can all us paypigs bring in more than that?

lmao dude get a therapist wtf

What you don't seem to understand is that if the uniquely libertarian spirit of a place like this dies, then you have nothing of value. It turns into Reddit, Youtube, a watered down shithole like the thousands of other watered down shitholes that exist on the internet. Nothing of value, and certainly not a place where true diversity of thought can be expressed freely.

People like you who don't understand the concept of liberty of thought are what has brought forth the idea that repealing ss 230 is a good idea in the first place. And because you are willing to compromise, the people who would see true liberty of thought destroyed would win.

If you would want to compromise, then why not go to reddit?
Half of liberty is slavery.
