The farms is the last site that resembles that early spirit of the internet I’ve known since the mid 90s. It’d be horrible to see this place disappear. I’m just sad I was a lurker for so long before I decided to make an account.

Hope it doesn’t come to it, but if so, it’s been a pleasure fellow kiwis.

Null, you’re a man of principle in a world of savages. Thank you for fighting the good fight.

Russian sites are Russian, SF is hosted by AA who is currently in parts unknown and has a multi-million dollar judgement against him in the US. Read OP for my opinions on this. SF has a very complicated and ever changing hosting situation.
Maybe Don Black and his boomer Fed Nazis could hook you with safe hosting.

how can russian torrent sites and stormfront stay online but not a shitposting forum
Also Anglin has been pretty vocal about how he's (Daily Stormer) one of 2 people ever kicked off of Cloudflare - the other being 8chan - and he doesn't seem shy about saying how it fucked everything up and ruined his life and now everything is insanely expensive. He's mainly on Tor right now with a public-facing clone version or something, but I'd imagine it's 100x easier because it's just a publishing site run by one guy.

It's been one hell of a ride kiwis, i owe you guys alot for the strange but real improvements ive made as a human being, shown me different perspectives, called me out on my bullshit, improve my humor and taking me in when no other goddamn website would.

If this is the end of days for this website, and im almost never 100% serious, but for once on this site i will be. Thank you, all of you, my bizarre time on this site has helped me find a true passion, Filmmaking, I can't even think of a way to thank you all for that.

So in the end i want you all to know you're my best internet bros til the end. Stay Autistic Kiwifarms.

Do any of you guys have any ideas of what sites would be decent to refugee too if/when the farms go down? Havent had much luck for finding other sites that cover the same sorts of people

I feel like everyone is getting a bit carried away with this.
If a true threat to Section 230 comes about, the pushback from big tech would be tremendous. Not just Facebook and Twitter, but Google, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, big store chains like Walmart, Target, and various other companies will fight it like they always do. On top of that, there are so many politicians in big tech's pockets that this whole thing will probably never get its legs.

The fact that we have already seen the government push forward without caring about Trump's veto shows they aren't too worried about it.
Also keep this in mind, if we go by this year's session calendar for The House and Senate, The House goes on recess by the 11th and the senate goes on recess by the 18th.
And if we go by how things went at the beginning of this year, The House will be off recess starting on January 7th and The Senate won't be in session until February 3rd.

This means that at best, Trump has just two weeks to get a bipartisan bill through The Senate that doesn't reform 230, but kills it in its entirety. After that, it doesn't matter. By January 20th Trump is gone.
Should Biden get into office (most likely will) he has shared his opinions on 230, but hasn't shown much initiative in doing literally anything about it before.
And if Trump does veto, a reformed bill will not see his desk before the recess. And upon Biden taking office, the first thing he will do is sign the bill that Trump wouldn't; which kills the 230 hostage situation.

Does this mean there will be no attacks on 230 after this? Absolutely not. But it will always be met with enough opposition to delay and stalemate the movement as it always has.
This isn't new, 230 was challenged in the 90s as well and look where we are almost 30 years later.

Just keep in mind, Biden isn't on Twitter enough to give a shit about it and there are way bigger fish to fry in the first year of his presidency alone that we will be fine for the forseeable future.
So for the sake of everyone's sanity, think of it like this: we just need to make it 14 more days. If something happens in those 14 days, freak out. But until then, its business as usual

Edit: Also keep weekends in mind with The House and The Senate. They don't do shit over the weekend except get bills ready. So realistically, it's not 14 days; it's 10 days.

In 2020 the insane idea of holding a content provider accountable for stuff others say is now taken seriously. Cyberpunk dystopia.
I legitimately do not understand the argument being put forward by people who believe this will resolve big tech censorship. I’ve tried to steelman it in my head and it still comes out sounding fucking retarded. I think some of them are just too hung up on the platform vs publisher thing and the rest are boomers who don’t understand the nature of the problem at all.

Trump sycophants who uncritically accept everything he says are just as braindead as their parallels on the left. I also wonder what they make of the fact that Biden supports revocation of 230.

The rationale is "If I can't end my own oppression I can at least make it applied equally to everyone."
It's dragging everyone down to what conservatives experience in the vain hope they will start to empathize.

Is Hosting in Russia an option? there should be a way to get you out of the line of fire with shell companies.
Not unless you like the Russian intelligence services being able to pick through the userdata of everyone on the website whenever they please. Or having to cave under whenever some rich asshole gets offended and bribes the cops to fuck with the site.

I created this account as part of a move to have an anonymized way to vent my actual thoughts but still have relationships (that you can’t have on a chan), inspired by the spirit of this forum.

So of course, now I’ve just gone full retard and stopped bothering to maintain much pretense. I hope it doesn’t take me too long to find the new ghetto for the 4chan / somethingawful exiles if this one goes.
