Regarding the apparent and imminent repeal of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act and the future of this website.

I have bad news.

Section 230 modification is reasonably well-liked on both sides of the aisle for different reasons.

On the right, because they think it is used as a shield against accusations of suppression of right-wing voices.

On the left, because they think it is used as a shield against suppressing hate speech.

The only reason some elements of the left, and I use that term loosely to be clear, are even remotely against it is because it's Trump saying it right now. Once Biden starts saying it, then that opposition also falls away.
I think the main difference is that Biden would be more susceptible to lobbying from big tech to keep section 230 intact.

So when does the Senate (and/or House? /NonAmerican) get to re-vote and overturn Trump's veto?

The boomers were robbed of all the wealth they generated during their working years, the final remaining pieces which are the 401k plans and pension funds are going to start going belly up within the next year at this rate. Most boomers are not even aware what has been done to them. The people to blame are the folks who have played the long game scam that is our current financial and political system. That is the bankers, insurance companies, and politicians. The same fucks that screwed the generation before, and our current generation.

The boomers watched niggers burn down Detroit and turn it into a gaping husk of niggerdom before their very eyes after MLK was assassinated. Boomers suck for a lot of reasons but they had watch their parents go to Korea and Vietnam and come back broken. Maybe they went to Vietnam too. They watched the Greatest Generation do a lot of retarded shit to fuck them over like voting Le Great Society. Then they had to deal with Jimmeh Cahtah shitting himself constantly while in office.

The fact that boomers have made out as well as they have is itself a miracle. A lot of the problems we have now were actually caused by the WW2 generation screwing the pooch, like the institution of NATO and becoming a bank for the UN. (There were political reasons for this but look at where their decisions landed us.) I would say the greatest failure of the boomers is that they continued those policies instead of fighting them.

Oh, and our problem with Chyna right now? All of that started when Richard Nixon went to Chyna to open another front in the Cold War with the Soviet Union. The domino effect resulted in Chyna spreading a virus all over the world and buying politicians in every first world state as well as flooding the West with at least 2 million sleeper agents.

Richard Nixon was born in 1913.

Take the boomers to task for what they actually did, not what the internet memes about.

As for the civil war stuff, I donno if you're trying to channel the essence of Walter Sobchak or not lmao.
No, I just had a dark moment. I honestly think we can work our way past this bullshit. But sometimes I don't.

If you could somehow just remove it for Facebook and Twitter and Google and maybe other shit with a market cap over a billion bucks I could see it. Honestly if you could just burn down those companies to the fucking ground I could see that too. Some kind of corporate death penalty for crimes against humanity.

Like heres the thing: I am in favor of big websites like facebook and twitter losing their protected status if they continue acting like they currently are. My concern is that I dont want smaller sites like this one or god forbid even a wretched shithole like reset era getting caught in the crossfire

It's going to happen. When shit like this gets appealed the small people will always get the worse of it, big tech litteraly give 0 shits. If it gets appealed they will just clamp down harder on censorship while the little websites will have to close.

Trump legit does not care for the little man, just another corpo scumbag who got elected president.

Just sit back and enjoy the shitshow as Americans lose more rights to protect their rights. Either way i'll still troll idiots so nothing lost for me.

Wasn't a decent part of the reason Trump won in 2016 was because he wasn't at all PC and was appealing to a lot of people on the net in places like here and 4chan? Isn't he biting one of the hands that feed him by trying to fuck over internet freedoms?

Am I right in thinking that the only reason he wants to repeal Section 230 is so that Twitter can't put ”this is false” stickers on his tweets when he says that he's the TRUE and HONEST winner of the election?
Essentially, yes, but the larger picture is that he sees no reason why he should have to back up any claims he makes with actual facts. If he says it, it must be true and someone even implying otherwise is an excellent reason to start gutting the internet.
Trump's been on this for months-- it started when Twitter labeled tweets he made not as false, but as something to the effect of doubleplusungood with the implication that they would have otherwise removed them altogether if not for the fact that they'd be violating federal case law in doing so. It's only now that he's unambiguously targeting Section 230 for total repeal.

Trump lost so instead of unifying the country
How the hell would he do that?

How the hell would he do that?
Is the new event good or bad? Is it a time for celebration? I'm a retard on politics
It'd be bad if it went anywhere, which it could have if not for the bill already being veto-proof in both houses.

If you're somehow not initiated: no Section 230 means that Null would actually have to go to court each time he gets sued for content posted by any of us. It'd be the end of KF, and in fact, would be the end of smaller internet platforms that don't have the capital to eat lawsuits like Twitter and Google do.

If I'm reading it right: so its good for the time being? Trump is basically wasting time and money trying to push a 230 repeal despite both houses giving him a hard 'no, we won't do that'?
