Reincarnation

Lucifer the fallen angel is not androgynous. You're all getting mixed up with Baphomet, a deity who was originally entirely unrelated to Satan. Baphomet contains traits both masucline and feminine, making him androgynous. He represents the universe, similar to the concept of yin and yang. Through some strange series of events which no one is certain of, Baphomet became associated with Satan. I forget if Baphomet was originally an Indian deity, a deity worshipped by the Freemasons, or some form of both. Either way, I think for some reason the church decided they didn't like it and vilified it.

I could not have said it better. Though if I remember correctly Baphomet was worshiped by the Templars, which is why (s)he has such a bad rap with Christians. Maybe it moved into the Freemasons too? I try not to care too much about them.

EDIT: And I think he got associated with Lucifer because of Baphomet's symbol of the goat.

Tbh it doesn't matter how Baphomet became a symbol of satanism. It just matters that it's a symbol that holds power over people who don't know it's origins. Hell like The Fool mentioned it could have roots in Hindu mythology as the Deity Ardhanarishvara an androgynous god that represents both aspects of the god Shiva and his wife Parvati in one body. But what matters now is that people for some reason or another have corrupted that symbol by adding animalistic qualities to it defying god's design. That's what gives the symbol its power it sublimates the original positive intent with new meaning now perverse and warped. Shit we've seen this in recent memory with the Swastika which used to be a character in Eurasian symbolising good luck, before being corrupted by it's use in imagery within Nazi Germany.
