Science is never going to be able to tell you whether there's a soul or an afterlife, just that Hell isn't at the Earth's core and Heaven isn't floating among the clouds.
Well akchyually hypothetically it could tell you if there's a soul or an afterlife if observable effects of them were ever discovered, but if they aren't then it can never confirm that they don't exist because proving a negative is hard.
