Katsu once told me that it would take a complete rewrite of how the current system works.
 
Personally, I say no because the featured thread system is how I've discovered a lot of great threads. There are so many threads and topics here I usually can't keep up with which ones are good.

I hate weens as much as everyone else, but I do feel like we shouldn't ditch featured threads because of them.

I miss the updates where it's was bullet points what various POIs did like, "Jace did X (link) Meanwhile, Tyce is currently doing Y (link), New Chris video (link), Some random cow did something crazy (link.)
Those were better than one featured thread, especially when it's a 300 page thread and I just can't care if I hadn't already.
 
I like the idea of featuring bad threads as a way of shaming bad OPs and corralling the weens into one place.

I agree, I really liked those bullet point updates. I think it would be a good alternative to having multiple featured threads.

This would be better since I'm worried that outright getting rid of featured threads would disperse all the weens into all the good unfeatured threads.

I also think it would be best if all of the info about the cow is in the OP and added to as more information comes up. It's too inconsistent here, some threads do that whereas with others, you have to dig really deep in the thread to find relevant information.
 
I kinda agree... I mean, instead of feature threads maybe just some breaking news, you know, like when Nick Bate was arrested.

here's a stupid idea: get rid of the featured threads and just have a scrolling news ticker at the bottom like on fox news (my number one source for fair and balanced news, for the record!)
 
Weening is an issue but I don't think not featuring threads is gong to stop it. Slow it down, sure but shit-posters are always going to shit-post.

Yeah, I agree. I'm not a fan of the featured threads, as it opens the floodgates of weening. I suggest either:
A: Utilize a trolling group to drain off trolling. As long as it's there and not shitting up a thread, it's fine.
B: Crack down on weening. Temporarily threadban posters who are trying to derail to shit up a thread. Get much more aggressive about it.
C: Both.
 
Downvote/report the weens you think are "ruining" the thread. If you think Featured Threads attract weens, this whole forum does.
 
Can we disable ratings in featured threads, temporarily or permanently? I'm assuming it's not a supported feature, but that may or may not cut down on all the faggots rushing in to get good ratings. Maybe people will actually be motivated to contribute to the thread.

I find it hard to prosecute individual weens, all they do is say "[lolcow] is fat lol". It's not bad by itself, but it makes like a dozen pages of fucking nothing and it's irritating.
 
This cow is the biggest faggot in the world. I hope she/he/it gets AIDS/raped and murdered in prison.

I side with this system.

EDIT:
I also agree with @The Fool , we could have featured threads have disabled ratings for a short period of time (maybe while they are featured) to make sure that people don;t contribute merely to get ratings.

I personally find it frustrating on the Chris-Chan board... I don't feel like I can contribute because I have to wade though pages of the same repeated inanity... to make sure what I want to say, was not already said five times.
