Report: EA Is Remastering The ‘Mass Effect’ Trilogy At Long Last (Unconfirmed)

:story: They actually fucking changed the infamous Tali face photo. :story:

How did they ruin Miranda's butt shot scene? The camera angle they "fixed" I mean; what's it look like now?

Looks like the mod author of ThaneMOD, ME2: Recalibrated, and ME3: Recalibrated is throwing a tantrum over the idea of someone recreating their mods for LE. They took down all of their mods.

Link to their blog here.
The stupidest thing about this is that he's not leaving his mods up for posterity or anything. He decides that because he's have an issue with how Nexus handles things that no one else can play his mods? Talk about taking your ball and going home.

Sucks too because I wanted to try the Recalibrated mods at some point down the road.

Yeah, I find it hard to belive he took it down due to "bandwidth costs." I like mods, but this is far from the first time a modder became uppity about a perceived wrong.

And he took it down because Nexus is allowing "remakes" of his mods for the remaster. That's right, he's not mad that Nexus is allowing ports of his mods, because apparently that's not possible with how Mass Effect's modding tools work, he's mad that someone is allowed to remake his mods from the ground up with their own work because he believes he owns the "ideas" to the mods he made. Because apparently no one would ever think of a mod that allows Thane to survive or mods that fix lore inaccuracies and bugs.

A lot of modders are really cool but modding communities in general attract some serious prima donnas.

Looking at the Steam reviews, people are reporting there are no graphical settings and that there's horrible, forced mouse acceleration.
imagine a remaster in 2021 having less features than quake 1 from 1996.

so tali is brown now. because that's apparently how skin reacts wearing a burqa suit all day every day for generations. sure this has nothing to do with any idpol shit either.
I also have the lingering suspicion they did it so they don't have to pay the original artist.

the "original" back then wasn't that great, but by now is pretty much considered canon. nice going fucktards, you can't even remaster your own fucking games from less than a decade ago without shitting it up in the process.

Looks more like gray skin to me, especially considering the model for the original photo is Afghani in real life. I do prefer the purple/blue skin of the original, though.

I'm not planning on buying the remaster at all, but I do want to know what they did with the multiplayer requirements in single player, because from what I remember it was only possible to get the best endings in 3 without playing the multiplayer by importing a save from the previous two games with certain choices.

And it turns out you need Origin to run in the background to play the game.
What the hell is even the point of a Steam release if you need Origin to run the damn game anyway? This is some multilayer onion made up of several different clients/accounts/DRM systems and bullshit.

They rebalanced it so that you have to play the trilogy to get the best outcomes.

Alternatively, you can have to play the side quests if you are only playing ME3.
