That was a push by the community. The developers wisely knew what would happen if the tranny flag showed up in the game (Friendly Fire Hooooooooooooooooooo!).

Most of the worst of it has been localized with the Community Managers (CM) with most vocal either be fired/demoted.

Wellll.....for a live service game like Helldivers 2 the point is to keep the fan base excited and engaged in-between major patch releases. Another good one is to get a feel of what the community is complaining about so to directly give the devs feedback on how everything is going and what the major grips the fanbase has (which also could lead to help with retention rates). Basically being a interactive PR role for the company.

Sadly since Trannies saw this as a avenue to attack (since they hate gamers) most devs only get negative and incomplete information from the users on how everything is going.

He's right, though. If you're more concerned about whether you have every unique characteristic of someone in your game to say you're diverse over a good story and good gameplay, then it becomes very apparent in the final product. Diversity is good when done right, but forced diversity for the sake of filling out an extra checkmark is not.

This never happened and there was no indication that it was under consideration by the developers. But the consensus among the playerbase would be that if there was something like that in the game, anyone who wore it would be mercilessly teamkilled until they quit and took it off.
